I repaint Dino and snake toys, so I would say yes, of course!

Buying the starter box set (plus new rules) is on the list for me.  Hoping by the end of the year to purchase such, since it's my "backup reason" for wanting to spend several hundred dollars over at Uncertain Scenery for a bunch of their game board tiles.

I... might... uh... already own... *cough* Shaltari, UCM , and Scourge armies.

The Shaltari are even 70% painted.

Tiny details like that are lovely to see added in ^_^ plus I like how his boards are 2" thick, which adds noticeable height (especially compared to TT Combat's 1.18" layers - although they're coming out with a few more tiles soon too)

Are they less than £100 per set? :zombie:

I'm curious to see what they are.

Don't tell! I will see it when it gets here.

What exactly is it that you wish he would do? I've got a conversation with Tre in the works, need to schedule an official date. I'd be willing to pass along ideas.

Keep in mind, given that his company is named after the original Red Box edition of D&D, he's probably not going to stray far from what inspires him (i.e. space marines are unlikely). But suggestions do have a way of creating inspiration that may fit within his vision.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer, but I know Tre. He's been really cool to me over the years and I've nagged him in a few different directions over that time.

He does his thing and that's cool. I am not the person to ask for successful business advice :)

*checks*  No, it's about twice as much at £185 for their 16 piece set.  You get 3x Crossroads, 3x t-intersections, and 3x straight roads, and you get to choose the other 7.  Their boards also have a cross-type reinforcement in the middle.  I also like that they sell dedicated riser modules, instead of making you buy more flat terrain tiles to build additional height - not really an issue for the TT Combat tiles just yet, but since they're adding in sunken roadways in the near future, I'd suspect other things are coming too.

I'd be curious if that 2" tile height truly does make a difference compared to TT Combat's 1.18" heights, or whether its a tad too much given the smaller scale.  I think I just like that it's the same height that the 28mm ones from Miniature Scenery (Paranoia Battlegrounds) has.  Well, that all the extra little details Uncertain Scenery seems to have in there.

And hey, nothing wrong with having a decent amount of armies for a game one enjoys ^_^  I have no idea which faction I'd roll with myself.

I haven't had the opportunity to game for quite a while now. there are lots I'd like to play, though.

Convert and paint them, then daydream about using them in a game.

We occasionally use the fantasy minis for Pathfinder. Unfortunately, even with all the  armies that I own, I've never actually used them in the games that they're intended for. I don't have a competitive bone in my body, I'm afraid. I keep on buying Infinity/Hordes/Sigmar box sets with the thought of 'yup, that'll get me playing the game'. It never happens.

I think at this point I should just admit that I'm buying all those pretty minis purely to paint.....eventually :poke:

@Kuroneko sorry to hear about the weasels. I wish you luck at getting the corralled up. Tricksy little beasties.

Thank you. I've been dealing with some family related drama that I should've just walked away from. Hopefully everything is sorted out now and all the crazy makers can leave me alone again.

I tend to relax by painting minis, but if I'm stressed out I get super critical of everything that I try to paint. So that's always a nice little vicious circle to get stuck into  Thankfully, I managed to get my painting mojo back by working on my Dance of Death again. It's such a gorgeous mini

I use some of my minis for D&D and Pathfinder. I dream of finding a non-awkward group to play Warmachine with but the "starter box" set I have of those just sit on my shelf, which is basically what most of my minis do. Playing games is secondary to my passion for painting though, mostly I paint for display and my personal gratification. Playing with them is just a nice bonus.

WEEKEND QUESTION June 21th - June 23th

When painting minis do you like the realistic or the cartoony approach?

Show ( some) of your work.

BONUS: Paint something in the opposite style and show us ( older work acceptable also if you can't make it)

I guess I go for realistic.
