A new kickstarter project from Kev White:

Don't think I shall be backing this myself as I don't do much that is bigger than 54mm.

This seems to be happening off Kev's own bat and I don't think Hasslefree is involved. Whether that is a good thing or not I leave to your own judgement.

Well I like the figure, but don't know about the nude version... I'll wait to see if this get closed to the SG cause I think she will look great in armor!

And I find it a little expensive for a single figure :/

The 40mm is a beautifully sculpted miniature I would have had no use for.  The 75mm is a beautifully sculpted miniature that I have no use for.  If the armored one gets made and is fully clothed and has a spear it would be a fantastic Athena statue in games and setups, but I expect it with still show a little to much for a Athena proxy.  If the actual representation of the Greek goddess Artemis gets done it would also be useful in games and setups.

I hope this KS is successful for no other reason than I like to see artists push their talents, but I really do not have the space or money for resin sculpts so my opinion should not really influence Kev's sculpts.

The armored version is funded and almost complete already. There will be a (likely hellenic) draped classical version, if it funds (it's close).

There are reasons besides gaming to enjoy sculpture. I'm happy he's making this one, given how much of the industry has been hamstringed by the needs of gamers (until the last few years, anyway).

Never again after the mess that is STILL his first Kickstarter.

No, as he makes very clear if you read the Campaign page; he only supplied sculpts for Hasslefree, he had nothing to do with how the kickstarter was run. And Hasslefree has no part in this project.

"

A number of reasons.
1. Larger scale miniatures don't tend to do well for us, but this sculpt was just lying around and I felt bad that no one would ever be likely to be able to buy it.
2. There is a huge backlog of unreleased miniatures already on the production schedule at HF. This little lady is about two years behind the front of the queue and she gets pushed back every time I make something that we know will sell better.
3. This sculpt was a pet project. I don't see why HF should have to pay for things I haven't been asked to make."

Kev is hasslefree so not sure what point you're trying to make. He's doing it independently from the company for numerous reasons but it's the same guy.
