Missed but not forgotten!!!

Salvage Operation

Part 3 of Ghost of Saltmarsh campaign

Again, spoilers for those that are gonna play this one as players, bla bla bla (come on people by now you should know this!!! )

If your utilizing the encounter before the party gets to the ship for the Sahuagin, definitely go with the Bones Tiik for this one as it's 18  (16 regular sahaugin, a baron (the 4 armed one) & a priestess). I guess for the priestess you could use the Champion or get a prepainted one. Unfortunately, the Sea Devil line up from Pathfinder is out of size as their "baron" is just a regular sahuagin & is medium size. ::(:

If you'd like to mini the dwarf captain, Wolgar Windrunner, there is this guy from Reaper:

03241_3241.jpg 3241

& there is a cook in both Bones & DHL (metal).

There is 30 dwarves aboard the friendly ship, so best to either get a small amount of dwarf minis or use paper minis. I like dwarves but I don't like them that much!

Row boat, various 3d prints + Reaper does have a row boat in it's offerings.

Emperor of the Waves (ship rooms)

#2 Altar to Lloth

Giant Spider: I've using Phase Spiders for my Large size spiders

Ettercap: There is  one in both Pathfinder Battles & D&D prepainted lines. Reaper has one too.

Swarm of spiders: Reaper has em as do the prepainted line ups.

#3 Navigator's Room

See #2 for these, same creatures, just different amounts.

#5 Spider Nest

Ettercap (see #2)

Giant Wolf Spider: Medium size spider. Nolzur's makes a 3 pack!

Swarm of spiders (x6 yah Bones is your friend here!)

#6 Food Storage

Maw Demons: These are really only in 2 forms, 1) the old metal line up of D&D 3.0 minis & in prepainted form. There is a 3d printed on cults3d as well. Prob more but these are 3 most common ways. A maw demon looks like this: max.png?1543873884

Your gonna need 4 of them.

#7 Krell's Cabin

(the main bad guy, but he's not here!)

#10 Unholy Shrine

Krell Grohlg, half-orc druid: Reaper has a 1/2orc druid: 2980 (thou you'll have to remove the bird, kinda odd with him worshipping Lloth & spiders, but you can use these as well Surkar (3043) Ombar (14079). All 3 are "orky" enough & are wielding a staff.

Giant Spider: (see above)

Roil (Phase Spider), pet: See Giant Spider but make an actual Phase spider

#12: Cargo Hold

Ghast: Various ghoul/ghast minis are out there. Easy to find.

Death of the Emporer

Elder Octopus: Be Creative, make your own!! Reaper's Kraken miniature is also a great stand-in!!

& that's it for the all at sea adventure! Until next time!

Up next:

Isle of the Abbey

Haldir - there’s a prepainted maw demon coming out in a week or two from the newest WizKids set.  Based on what they are, I’d bet you could get them for a couple bucks a piece on the secondary market.

Good to hear. It'll be awhile till we get to this adventure as we play bi-weekly games for Ghost of Saltmarsh. Is this the Avernus set?

Update:

Looking for some suitable pirate/smuggler minis for tonight's game, I came across a few minis I may use instead.

Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh

The Sea Ghost:

Smugglers:

Captain Sigurd “Snake Eyes”

I found my captain (helps he's painted ::D:)

BARNABUS FROST, PIRATE CAPTAIN

SKU: 77132

Bloody Bjorn, a pirate first mate

For this guy, I'm gonna go with this guy:

BAALBEK OF JALAHANDRA

SKU: 02279

For his chain, I've got custom rules for it.

Foul Frithoff, a pirate bosun

For this guy I'll use the previous deck wizard suggestion:

ARVEN SCARHULL, PIRATE CAPTAIN

SKU: 03224

Due to he has a parrot on his shoulder. For the game I'll omit the parrot but due to he has one in his cabin, it fits.

Punketah, a pirate deck wizard  Instead of the mini I suggested earlier, I'm going with this one:

RHASIA, ZOMBIE MASTER

SKU: 14512

As there is virtuly no female smugglers in this part of the adventure + she kinda gives off that weird vibe that the other sailors avoid & such.

7 crew members (bandits)

Salvage Operation:

#10 Unholy Shrine

Krell Grohlg

Chainmail orc druid (subject of a Paint this mini this month idea on the forum here awhile back &  LORATH, ORC SHAMAN SKU: 02328

For the crewmen, you may want to look at the plastic Crewmen set for Ghost Archipelago - nice, customizable... but maybe a tad on the small side.

Scum and villains suitable for a teeming hive. ::P:

The Auld Grump

I've got plenty of bandits & other ruffians (including "Fats" bandit out of the Nolzurs/Deep Cuts line. I've used him for so many ruffians. Big barrel body bandit/pirate, he comes with a female in a skirt w/sword pack.)

So we are playing Danger & Dunwater next Monday & looking for minis for that game, I suddenly realized Koalinths are aquatic hobgoblins......I've been playing D&D in some form or anther for how many years????!!!!

Sigh

Downloaded a supplement off DMsGuild yesterday called DM's Resources for GofS. Pretty Cool info. It adds a encounter for the sea part of travel which foreshadows upcoming adventures. It has Sahaugin as the enemy. I'll probably continue to use Slithe as my Sauh stand-ins. Also the pdf has extra maps & info for whatever adventure they are trying to flesh out.

Since we have switched to once a month for Ghost of Saltmarsh, updates for this game will be a bit slower then before.

In the earlier editions of the game, a lot of the aquatic encounters were versions of existing critters.

For Koalinth I am using Mantic Naiads - martial and humanoid.

The Slithe make for great Sahuaghin. Heck there is even one with a light lure on his head!! (one of new varieties in GoS). Lizardfolk, I just use the various Reaper minis. The Tyrant is perfect for the large size one. While not as big as the Tyrant, Kar Drakar makes for a decent large lizardfolk. He is big for a medium base.

For the Chief & Subchief I'm using the older style (DHL 2300s or 2400s Ben Siens style) Again, just look em up using lizardfolk or man here.

Shaman (named one, I'm using either: T'kay or 03607 (Shaman))
