So am I, the UV Resin Gel doesn't need mixing either and dries pretty fast it needs to be exposed to UV light ( either the sun or a little UV flashlight).

In general this sounds very good. But: How long does it takes to dry when it is exposed to sunlight?

The Still Water is more liquid than the Gel and needs longer to dry,

Just so you know.

I have it already and I used it already. I had to layer it again and again because it shrinks when it dries. It is not the best solution I guess, but if I make only a very, very small "lake" or a very small waterfall, it should work for sure at least and without any risk.

I'm going to experiment with AK Interactive Water soon, two part resin.

It's time to overcome my fear and try other stuff, this way I will find out what I like best and what is the easiest way to create nice water.

I will share my results.

You are my hero! LOL Thanks for taking the risk and for sharing the results.

Masterful work all around--the hair is truly fantastic and the blue/lilac shadows on the skin really emphasize the sylvan nature of the faerie queen.

Thank you very much. I had 2 considerations about the project: First Titania should look like a magical creature (white hair, pale skin) and second the colourscheme of the whole scene. Magenta and Green are complementary contrast and because the forest is a lot of green I decided to go for purple and magenta at Titania for making her stand out well in the whole scene.

Another way to combine the miniature with the base is to go for similar colours at both figure and base, but the other way (complementary contrasts) also works nice. In this case my aim was a complementary contrast. Skin is not exactly as I wished it to be. Orignially I wanted more magenta shades but anyhow it looked strange and so I painted the skin for the moment less colourful. We will see how she turns out in the end. Maybe I will try it again with just a very, very few magenta when the skin is more finished.

On a sunny day ( use it outside), depending on how deep you pour it, it can dry as fast as in 10 minutes for shallow and 20 minutes for deeper water , for my Komodo Dragon, I have waited ( just to be sure) for 40 minutes and it was rock hard.

I also bought a small UV Flashlight ( Greenstuffworld) for when I need to do this inside or on a cloudy day.

One should not leave the open bottle exposed to sunlight or it will harden then.

If you keep it out of the Sun and don't use UV light, it will remain in a gel state.

Love the colors and shading; I find when I try to skins I go extra subtle in the shadows but seeing how well those transitions and highlights come out I’ll push for darker/harder line shadows. Great technique.

Regarding the base due to the blues and cool colors I see I could see her in a Norse ford, grey stone, driftwood and dark river stone that go with the blue/grey tones. Any forest could be blue spruce.

or early morning in a bathhouse, colored screen with a pattern echoed in her robe and gray colored floors and walls where the lighting is bright dawn

Its an inspiring miniature and you’ve captured it well

Well, I still use NOCH water effects and I am super happy with it. But then again: The question is what you want to achieve and if it is usable for your project

Ooops sorry I`ve missed your post. This messenger function here is far beyond accurate. Good that you mentioned the NOCH water effect, because I actually had it not on my mind anymore, but yes I know it. Would be another way. What I want to achieve would be best a little waterfall which runs into a little lake. Thanks for this input!!!

It all depends on how much expensive this UV Flashlight is and if I can get it germany. I consider this.

Ah okay, thanks for this extra info. Well, a lot of cool tipps here. I will check out all this possibilities and then we will see what I use in the end. Many thanks for all the help.

Keep in mind that you see a wip which means that I probably lighten up the darker midtones a bit in addition and maybe even the shades. But yes in general I always go for much depth which means very dark shadows, very bright highlights and the hardest part is to build up all the midtones between for getting a smooth transition. In basic I just used layering with thinner paints here (because she ist so tiny) but I always use a cross stroke which means that I don`t layer only in one or two directions but also cross the lines and paint parallel lines for building up the midtones again and again.

Thanks for the ideas, but this magical forest idea as the plan for the base is quite determined. I even selected her colourscheme according this plan.

Sounds good too. But as said above...but thanks maybe I paint someday a second one of her and then I might use one of your ideas they are all cool in general. It is just I`m stick to this magical forest idea.

I love this concept and the direction you want to take it! Your paint job is lovely too!

I can't wait to see what you do with the water. I'm trying my hand at water for the first time as well and it's been quite a journey. I learned that two part clear epoxy leaks everywhere if you're not careful.  A lesson I don't intend on learning twice if I can help it. lol

All in all, I'm enchanted with the idea of a magical forest.  I'm tuned in and can't wait to see where this goes. :)

Thank you very much. Well... I`m also excited. I always was a bit lazy in doing cool bases, but now I just wish to have some and so I have to learn it now. Will be an intresting experiance. I`m gonna pin her and so I can easily take her off the base again for the case that I will mess it up

Cross your fingers for me.

In my most recent project, I painted the figure last in an attempt to use some of the colors from the environment I created on the figure. It also allowed me to completely screw up the base with no repercussions. ha!

Fingers crossed!

It's a small one, operates on 3 AAA Batteries.

I purchased both the UV gel and the flashlight from Battlefield Berlin, the flashlight is 4,50 euro I believe..

Ooops sorry, I`m afraid I gave you this tipp right now at your recent project lol. Yes, yes good idea, was my consideration too when I have seen the Satyr (including the colours of the base at the paintjob). Good luck to you too, I`m sure you will make it ::D:
