Dressing for war (bones 4 dire penguin and 2 other penguins)

Recommended Posts

Thanks to everyone.  I wish I had time to do more but between deadlines (have to leave tomorrow) and a rather large donation to the blood god of hobbies, its as finished as its going to be.

I need to think a little more about the tuxedo gear for a second attempt.  i really like how the cummerbund came out and in my eyes i just see the dire penguin standing over a defeated orca, eyes glowing bright red in triumph, and dressed with tophat, bowtie and cummerbund.

Amazing work!

I highly recommend the Xuron flush cutters for helping avoid any more grievous hobby knife injuries. After my last bad cut, I picked up a heavy duty pair for cutting minis off their integral bases, and a fine tipped pair for more detailed work.

I currently use a set of Xurcon 2175s   the problem comes in the chunks plastic right under the mini after I cut most ofnthe base away..  it was a lot harder than expected and my poor handling skills tripped me up.

My wife went on a backpacking trip for a few days, and I've been using the time to get working on a bunch of painting projects. This is the first that I've finished. I used them to try pigment fixing for the first time, and it was pretty cool! Most of it got covered up by the grass, but this was intentional, and why I chose to use them for my first try.

I also had some tree stumps from Secret Weapon, and thought that it would be cool to try painting them like white birch trees. I really like the way that they came out, and I'm sure I'll be doing those again sometime.

      Enjoy!

      Per Izzy,
If you picked up either of the Art Books in the Bones III and IV kick-starters and would like to get them autographed, be sure to bring them with you to ReaperCon. Izzy will be signing them when time allows.

I just did a quick paint of these for my D&D group. We're running Princes of the Apocalypse, and they're about to go through the fire portion. I love these dudes, and they mark my first Bones 4 minis done!
