Xiang Lung (50170) and Pulp Figures Dragon Lady

Xiang Lung, 50170, is listed as a "Chinese Villain," but can anyone with a cuddly monkey be THAT villainous?

A master of terrible sorceries, most assuredly. 



Bob Murch's Pulp Figures includes a set of Dangerous Dames, and this one is a Dragon Lady. Don't take my word for it; look at the embroidery on the jacket!

 

They make a good Power Couple.

...and yes. From the minute she walked into my to-do list, I could see that dame was Trouble. Her patience with fools was shorter than her skirt, and barely hidden better than the stiletto that said she meant business.

I love both of these - those pulp figures are too much fun!  Xiang Lung looks like the insidious Dr. Fu Manchu to me, the product of too much lurid pulp literature in the days of my youth..

TOO MUCH lurid pulp? No such thing, soldier!  
(It's certainly possible to overdose on pulp-era bigotry and bad prose, but two-fisted action and Weird Tales schemes an sich? I dunno!)
