Nothing dramatic, but some progress has been ongoing...

Put down some Eldritch Purple on Ivan's cape, and the vampiress has her hair based in Ebony Flesh and her shroud/dress in Stone Grey.

Vampire Shadow added.

Vampire Shadow, another couple coats of Eldritch Purple, Shadowed Grey on his hair, Stone Grey on his sleeves, Stormy Grey on his armor.

50/50 Dirty Bone/Graveyard Bone mix, and entering the "Skeletal Time Sink"....which is the reason why I've split the unit into batches, 5-6 at a time is far less intimidating of a task than 20 at once.

Where is the metal command group from?

The drummer looks familiar, but I don't think I've seen the other 2 before.

Games Workshop, Skeleton Standard Bearer 2 74516/5, Skeleton Drummer 2 74516/3. Both are featured in the 1994 Undead Army book. The champion I don't see in the catalog section of the book, but I think I picked up the blister in 97/98, so he probably dates to around then.

The champion looks like the one from a Warhammer Quest Adventure pack.

The Grave Guard from that set.

Vampire skin is done...

100_1904.JPG.9bad1ea05088664a5345e648c72fda61.JPG

After the adding Vampire Skin, went over with a Snow Shadow wash, painted in the eyes, and final layer of Vampire Highlight, and picked out the fangs in Pure White. Also slathered some GW Druchii Purple wash on the cape.

Her hair was based in Ebony Flesh, then Dark Highlights layered over.

Three of the skeletons have gone thru the Dirty Bone/Graveyard Bone highlight stage.

The vampires are almost finished, and all six of the skeletons are ready for the next step...

100_1915.JPG.acd39c39d22a60fe60e3e329e7653bb6.JPG

Highlight layer of 50/50 Stone Grey/Weathered Grey, and Black/Stormy Grey on her sandals.

Same light grey mix on his sleeves, several layers of Pure Black/Stormy Grey mix on his pants and outer cape, Shadowed Stone on his boots, Cursed Gold on the metal bits. His hair got a highlight of Misty Grey then a dousing in Black Wash.

As usual, my black/grey mix is either too subtle or too blatant, but it shows well enough in person.

Finally got back to these guys...

100_2039.JPG.9dbb4dac0057199831aad5920674a3f6.JPG

Judging by the difference between what they look like now and the previous pic, I think I took them up to the Sepia Wash stage. Which means all they need is a Linen White highlight, and then on to the weapons and shields. A pleasant surprise indeed!

100_2040.JPG.ca6abd002c5ace271695f1d64dad9119.JPG

Now I remember why I let this sit for 2 months... while I finished the vampires some time back, the spray sealer I'm using, Rust-oleum Satin Clear, had the side effect of making them glossy. I put down some Vallejo sealer over that to no effect. So now I'll try Reaper's sealer and see what happens.

The Reaper sealer worked!

Although it appears my earlier optimism as to where I was in the skeletal process was a bit off...

100_2041.JPG.06ac70308b3c0670747aaa1e45c88b17.JPG

Jumped too far by quite a bit, which means that I was at the Brown Wash stage then...nothing another dousing won't solve.

One of the perils of trying to have too many projects on the table, and not always keeping good notes.

So far two have had the Graveyard Bone highlight applied...

100_2054.JPG.d0288662dc8f220038c5736f0e299af3.JPG

Four more are waiting somewhat patiently...

100_2055.JPG.287adb276d95d01cdbd6eb071e403ee2.JPG

...and the final two have been fixed...

100_2058.JPG.c735d739e929c82a1aaef252b3b27bcf.JPG

The skeleton on the left has a new skull. Couldn't find his original so used one from a sprue of the 2nd generation GW skeletons. Skeleton on the right had the top half of his spear reattached, and a new shield arm from the last production box of GW skeletons.
