Rignes
In the interest of the health of my wrists and hands I'm looking into hobby paint shakers. What do you guys think of them and what's good and also affordable?
Gadgetman!
The hobby shakers are ratrher hit or miss... What you want is a proper Vortex shaker. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/71837-split-vortex-shakers/&tab=comments#comment-1462823
WhiteWulfe
I love my Vortex mixer. It was definitely worth the cost, since it mixes things up quite well, and in very little time.
CorallineAlgae
I have bad joints and a couple of spine surgeries working against me. My Vortex Genie 2 mixer is a definite help. I got it used on eBay. It seem like a niceish used one with a cup or rubber topped platform isn't quite as easy to find as they used to be. At least for a good price. It might be worth hounding the site if you're determined to snag one.
Face_Rollan
This is what i use (i remixed a design someone made for AP). Reaper Paint Shaker for Reciprocating Saw found on #Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2946370 This took some unusable paint (from being frozen) to usable. If you don't know someone with a 3d printer, a lot of libraries have them for public use.
Highlander
I finally got a Vortex shaker. Frankly, it does about the same job as my Robart shaker, but it is simpler, faster, and easier to use. It is also much more expensive. And you gotta hold the paint container down with your hand. I put my own larger stainless steel balls in the paint container. That seems to even things out with the Robart.
