Not too sure what to think about the 2mil update.  Cardboard standees are an awesome addition, but the UrbanMech, and UrbanMech plush...

I don't quite know what to think of the meme becoming real.

I don’t really care about a new Urbanmech sculpt, or getting a “free” urbanmech miniature, but I’m not gonna lie: I totally want a plush urbanmech.

not sure this thing quite has the legs for $2m, but we’ll soon see.

Yeah I think that's kind of backwards too. By Star Colonel you have 50+ minis. Standees aren't as necessary. Now at the low levels where you'll only get a few mechs standees would be a great thing to have. 90% of our playing was done with paper standees way back when.

Yeah, I'm rather surprised by such a move.  I can understand the $50 tier not getting it, but if they had cardboard standees for the $95 pledge it would add a LOT more value, and also coax those on the fence to bump up (if they're able to).  Additionally, it would allow them to field different units, and be able to try various things out before having to commit to more miniatures, which can get those on the fence to give it a try like it, then be able to justify purchasing the mechs afterwards.

For painting 10m tall armored vehicles, I've always thought the place to look for inspiration is naval camo rather than armored-vehicle camo. You're not going to make it disappear or even make it hard to see, so the best you can do is add visual confusion.

The best thing about this (for me), is that you can do some remarkably striking things with your paint schemes -- dazzle, splinter, apparent changes in size, horizon lines, ....

Dazzle paint jobs are definitely tempting, especially so in a world with multiple types of scanners.  Sure, Mk 1 eyeballs are still used, but there is something about making a 10m tall thing look very different..

The plush is... I dunno, it would all depend on the size.  If it's like a foot, I might be up for it.  Three feet? Probably.  But I don't have a lot of love for the UrbanMech, even if it is versatile and even deadly in some scenarios.

Now, if it were a Hunchback, I'd be foaming at the mouth for one...

A quick note about force building: If you want to actually play two forces against each other in a fair-ish game, you'll want to make sure they're balanced.  BV is the standard metric for normal tabletop play.  PV is the metric for Alpha Strike.  The Master Unit List has the BV and PV values for all (or almost all) 'Mechs that have record sheets.

Here is a pic of the Iron Wind's 28 mm Elemental with Sir Forscale

Please tell me they still make that... Because if so, I suspect I'll wind up with one in my cart when I put an order in with them (alongside a few tanks...)

CGL just posted a new update.  Quartermaster Logistics will be handling fulfillment for this KS.

This means we will probably not see the same sort of fulfillment problems that have plagued (and continue to plague) the Shadowrun Sprawl Ops KS.  (I know I've had other KSs that fulfilled using Quartermaster Logistics but I don't remember which ones.)

This is very good to hear. It will probably convince a lot of folks to sign up with this now.

And the 28mm Elemental shows who my Command Star of Elementals is when playing.
