Anybody else already daydreaming/planning what you will wind up with once the KS gets here? My tentative plan will be as follows:

Adding a third battalion to my Northwind Highlanders to bring them up to regiment size.

Adding a Star to my Jade Falcons to make a Trinary

Adding 3 Stars of Omnis and 2 Stars of second line mechs to make a Ghost Bears Cluster, 3 Trinaries of Omnis, 2 Trinaries of second line mechs, 2 Trinaries of Elementals with armor support

And to keep things rather based in one arena, a battalion of Kell Hounds and a Battalion of Lyran Guards.

And I keep going back and forth over whether it will be Ghost Bear or Wolf in Exile...

I haven't even decided how many I'll end up buying let alone what units they'll belong too. I did spend some time this morning digging out all our Battletech stuff to see what I have. Organised it a bit and put Battletroops, Battleforce and Aerotech back into their storage spot. Kept the minis and the rest out and will move them to town sometime soon so I can read through things. I don't think I've even heard of half of the clans listed in the KS. Didn't remember that we had the technical readout for the Comstar mechs.

I'm not certain yet(a lot will depend on what Salvage Claus brings me), but I know my Command Lance is going to the FWL (Atrean Dragoons), a Star each of Omnis are going to my Falcons and Scorpions respectively, a few Omnis should actually bring my Highlanders up to their tech rating as of FM:U, and from there...we'll see.

I haven't really been thinking much about it... Today..... *laughs nervously*  My only worry about falling in love with Hell's Horses is I'm going to have to get a crash course in painting flames!

I'm... uncertain what I'll do with the salvage boxes, but I suspect it all depends on what they bring about.  Current plan is to split them up between Coyote and Hell's Horses.  Not many other clans really catch my eye, although Wolf (and/or Wolf-In-Exile) does, and I do have prior history with Jade Falcon, so I've been tempted to maybe look into a star for each of those, but we shall see.

The biggest thing I'm trying to figure out is if four dice per faction will suffice.  It's been way too long since I last played.

If you're going to do Hell's Horses up right, you need tanks and a lot more elementals; the Horses take combined arms and run with it... next Kickstarter for the tanks, probably.

Dunno if I ought to be looking forward to that or not, seeing as how Mr. Thorne really has no one to play with. ^^;

Fourteen points of Elementals is a good starting point, I figure - if I can get more in, I will, but I'm already at close to $700 USD planned, and would like to still be able to do some things other than just BattleTech...  Tanks will be something I pick up later on.  Combined arms is one of the things I like about them as well as their lore and fluff.  That's why Coyote will be getting the larger portion of mechs, while Hell's Horses will get somewhat less in the way of mechs.

What I am debating about though is whether or not to just pour all the Inner Sphere mechs into one faction or not.  It's a tough decision to make there.  I do like the idea of one big faction, but I also like the thought of being able to do IS vs IS if say hubb ywants to play too :p

Wow, things got busy here the last few days!  Just got caught up.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with any of them, honestly.  I haven't looked at clan/faction colour schemes or anything.  I'm (slowly) painting my Griffin to more or less match the box art from the beginner's box. Is that a particular faction colour scheme (other that Optimus Prime's....)

I need to spend an evening with a spreadsheet and figure out my pledge....more or less.  Since I'm sure I'll add more in the pledge manager.

Maybe I should start with a couple of colour schemes that I like, since I have no clan or faction that I particularly like, since I'm new to the universe....

I don't know if everyone noticed, but they added the pdf of the AGoAC rulebook to the digital assets dropbox there a couple of days ago.

I plan to add roughly 20 ‘mechs to the Brian cache mothballed in my closet.

Just curious, has anyone played BT (or similar games) via Skype (or similar)?

I've been playing D&D via Skype since my move and it's been working ok.  I left my mini with them and with cameras everything is pretty visible.

The cardboard standees made me think of it, as you could use those for the remote player's forces pretty easily.

BRIAN Cache?!? Prepare the dropship and bids!

I've been hoarding for 30 years. I stand by what I said.

I probably have something like 150 painted 'mechs and vehicles (not necessarily well painted, but whatever) The reserve cache is substantially larger. At one point I had a pretty accurate catalog, but after a move, and inheriting much of a friend's collection, that is hopelessly out of date. Some things, like the ancient Ral Partha v1 omnimechs are there because they simply have no better place to be, so they sit there in boxes, awaiting the end times. I suppose I could melt the pewter ones them down at ReaperCon, if I became desperate for space.

My shelf of shame has shelves of shame.

When I worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections, I was assigned to be a tester for the new replacement computer system they were going to. [We were still running a DOS based system up til 5 years ago]. The first meeting in Springfield, I made the comment "Yup, we have IDOC , Springfield and Microsoft working on this, what could possibly go wrong?"

They didn't invite me to any more meetings...

I'm afraid not.

Like you, I have played remote RPGs via Internet video link, but not board games or war games.

It might work, but I would be afraid that it would be difficult to track the whole board, unless you kept a duplicate setup on your side, like a play by post kind of thing.
