Corsair
I signed up for the $50 set, will add more later I'm sure. I've been with Battletech through hard times before, so I will try again. At least I don't have to fight to glue the Timber Wolf's legs together! 1
Xiwo Xerase
I pledged at $150. I might back off later but we'll see what else we'll get from the addons. I like the $40 add-on of the minis from the new boxed sets. 30 minutes in, already funded, and already funded past the listed stretch goals.

Xiwo Xerase
I'm surprised by how quickly it's funded. I'm pretty sure Bones 4 put this to shame but still... Over $150k and the first hour isn't even over yet.
Corsair
I see at least another $45-95 before I'm done...

The price looks like basically retail. and the inclusion of random blind box mechs does not make me happy. I think this is a wait and see if it materializes at retail for me. Yeah, I don't know quite what they are thinking on the blind draw box, except maybe "Hey, here's a way to dump spare stock at the end". The prices do look like retail prices, and they are sticking to their Catalyst guns of "no announced dates", which suggests that this KS will deliver "whenever". (I get that manufacturing is complicated, but they are already at double their first set of stretch goal funding levels. It does not seem likely that the balance of product will ship any time close to March of 2020.) I remain tempted, but I am going to wait and see a little before deciding what to do. Most of the sculpts look really nice, although I am not much of a fan of the stubby new Mat Cat / Timber Wolf.
WhiteWulfe
I'm debating if I'll be able to go in on this. It's fighting against an impending bill for CAV shipping fees, my desire to get into two new game systems (this would be a third), and the desire for a new desk. But.... Mechs at the same time... Tough call.

Tough call. if you want to get into battle tech this is probably not a great place to start. you'd be better off with the starter box, since this is all the weard 3050+ equipment which is fun but adds several extra layers of complexity to the rules.
ironman1231
I wanted to be in on this, but I balk at paying $6 a mini for plastic minis that will show up at some nebulous time in the future.

By adding it in I can get A Game of Armoured Combat for about $15 CAD cheaper than I could at a local gaming store... ...But the really big thing for me is that I'm not a fan of giving money to companies that start up Kickstarters while they still have several others not yet filled. So that's something I have to keep in mind, doubly so with all the reports about Canading backers (and the rest of the world) still waiting on stuff from previous Kickstarters, and the whole he said she said Sibling argument that seems to be going on for previous ones. As for BattleTech, I've always preferred clans, as they're what actually interest me in the fluff, oddly enough. Sure, Inner Sphere is neat and all but with 4th edition from the Fasa days I still hold my 3050 Source book close to my heart... Either way, in the end it's all going to wind up being whether there's enough cash to get in with the things I'm contemplating, and what the actual fulfillment times would be.... ... And that's even tougher, since I just got the WealthSimple Trade TFSA account invite, and I've been bugging them for months about that...

Xiwo Xerase
I'm not convinced any of the miniatures in the Clan Invasion boxed set will be available outside of that set in the near future. $6 per mini doesn't seem too bad to me: CAV minis cost $5-$7. The cheapest metal mini from IWM for any of the plastic minis purchasable through this KS is $9.95, for the Commando COM-2D (20-865). The minis in the Lance Packs and Star Packs come out to $5 each. If you get the addon set of minis from the current generation of boxed sets, it's $4/mini.

If you still have the fasa printing, just use that! the game has barely changed except for adding more weird stuff further along the time line.

Some it's interest but I'll be buying in to give a try, while others... Yeah, always was one for BattleTech - to the point I regularly corrected people that it wasn't called MechWarrior, that's what the pilots were called... The universe was BattleTech (was especially vocal when MW4:Mercs came out and it happened all over again) 1 hour ago, Werkrobotwerk said: oh! Glad to hear the old orange box still holds its worth for things... Including the books. Wonder if I bought the record sheets too, I'll have to go digging now...
