Especially when they're overlapping. The whole point of these forums is to inform people about the pros and cons of these KickStarters. They're not just free advertisements for the creator. If you don't want to see what I've said you can hover over my username and click Ignore User. But what's gone on during the Sprawl Ops KS has gone way beyond the KS norms of delays and missing pledges and I've got too many old friends around here who are interested in BT to not say anything about it. I’m going to agree with you, but I also believe you've made your point. I believe it’s best to leave it at that unless new info surfaces. 3

They clearly had a bunch of stretch goals ready to go, but they sure blew through a lot of targets really quickly. I hope they planned for this level of success. Is it wrong that I am almost more excited for the neoprene map sets than anything else? I bought the limited grasslands set earlier this year, and really like it. Sure, the miniatures look awesome, but (for reasons previously stated), I have some reservations about them.
Weird-O
Not so much on the neoprene ones, but I neeeeeeds the paper Tukayyid ones...
Lars Porsenna
So for the record I've been a lo-ong time Batteltech fan. I've been playing the game since 1985. It's been 34 years; how many people can clain fandom sustained over such a long period of time? So the game & the setting has a lot of emotional meaning for me... I went in & funded this even though I'm aware of the issues Shadowrun has had. If you have just a passing interest in the game, maybe this is not the KS for you. But the golden apple of this current kickstarter is that the lo-ong issues (since '96) that Battletech has had with a core group of mechs has FINALLY been resolved after a number of legal actions/bullying from Harmony Gold, the core group of mechs have been redesigned with arguably better art, AND they are going to be made available in plastic. I'm less interested in the Clan mech redesigns, but since we are getting nu-seen Marauders & Warhammers? That's like manna from heaven for an old time fan that has gone through all the trials & tribulations this game has had over the decades... Damon.
Heisler
While it has nothing to do with the thread I have been a fan of Squad Leader for 42 years and Star Fleet Battles for even 40 years. 2

I remember the first BT game I played was piloting a Locust, then I managed to take out a Rifleman so got that for my ride until I managed to trade for a Shadowhawk without an AC5 and got a Large Laser for it! Eventually traded/promoted up to a Warhammer! Very good days!
WhiteWulfe
The Locust is somewhat close and dear to me since you spend an eerily long amount of time in one when playing BattleTech The Crescent Hawk's Inception... Edit: as for the Kickstarter, I'm still debating. It's tempting, that's for sure, but I also want my new desk acquired and built up before CAV comes in... Werkrobotwerk
I am a bit sad they redesigned my favorite bad mech. The Nova isn't just a single axis with arms legs and cockpit all hanging off it anymore.
Lars Porsenna
You know, I wouldn't mind a mobile-style reboot of Crescent Hawks Inception, with more than 2 mech models & better overall graphics. I'm sure my smartphone can handle anything my old Tandy 1000SX could do... Damon. 3

It keeps the squat and wide look of older Black Hawks so it still keeps the same feel, but...I can usually ignore the plethora of hideous engineering nightmares you find in Battletech, but a machine where the hips and shoulders are one and the same AND it might be asked to feed ammo through that nightmare? That's a bit much for me sometimes.

In other news: I asked about the return of the classic quads over on the Battletech forums, and got a hard no. Hard enough to make me wonder if it's more of a "never".
Corsair
I do like the looks of the new Nova, I do hope we make the 1 million mark as I would love to see a new Highlander.

Have you seen the latest Highlander sculpt from Ironwind? It’s a real beauty. Kind of a strange angle on the photo, but I really like the look, and it is much more massive than the old one. Corsair
@klarg1 thanks for the pic! I've run Northwind Highlanders since their first mention.
