Using SirShadowscale would be a huge,  annoying, time consuming pain for someone (Ron probably) to install on each photo. With a pile of models on a desk and calipers... Someone would have to put calipers on SirForscale, transfer that measure to the physical copy of the model that’s been photographed. Then insert Sir Shadowscale into the photo and dial the size of the inserted SirSS graphic down until it matched the physical measurements. REPEAT for every photo.

It could be done much more easily with a scale just out of shot to which you match the height of the "ghost" figure. Add the ghost correctly scaled, then crop the image. Alternatively, you could just include a ruler at the edge of the pic, though that might look a bit low rent.

That is a better process.  Loading and cropping each image has to happen anyway I imagine. Only about three extra steps depending on the software.

A ruler at the edge is essentially what the Bryangles were.

@TGP & @Doug Sundseth good points on the Sir Scaleshadow idea. Maybe just a simple marker 2.5cm high which is so close to 1" as to be negligible next to a mini?

In other words, a 25mm RPG base (which Reaper already makes) stood on edge.

That is an easy idea.

I guess the problem with it is that it might imply the base was included with purchase (?)

The height of the mini isn't as important to me as the size of the mini's "footprint."

Neither Bryangles, letter cubes, nor Sir Forscale are helpful in that regard.

That’s unfortunate. With the first two options, for me, it is just a matter of looking at the photo. The footprint size is apparent—visually obvious.

Broccoli bases are the enemy, then. Each one is unique to the mini, so it would require a length and width measurement for every mini.

Not really.  Maybe not.  It would just need a Yes/No does it fit (?) inside a 1 inch RPG round.

Especially considering Reaper's... extensive back catalog, this  might make a better community project. Maybe we should work up some standards for picture taking so people can photograph their own collections and archive them somehow? If 100 people do 20 minis each, that's most of Reaper's stuff right there. Something like a picture of the mini sitting between the two closest bases, above a ruler (so, say, for an orc, sitting between a 1" and 2" base, over a ruler)? That way people could get a good idea of scale...

Although I usually compare minis by weight. I have a very good small scale, and find that I'm bad at visualizing so comparing weight works much better for me.

Neither of the Pathfinder Paint Sets are to be found under the "MSP Pathfinder Paints" or "Paint Sets" categories.  You can find them by searching for "paint set" but they aren't where you'd expect to find them by menu diving.
