60125 Attic Whisperer

I knocked this one up last night. I couldn't believe how small the figure is but it was fun to paint, and I'm still trying to get the hang of layering rather than drybrushing to highlight cloth. I basically ripped off the colour scheme of the example on the Reaper site. The "floorboards" are strips of plastic card. She (for some reason I keep thinking of the mini as a she) was a bit lost even on a 10mm base so I added the dried bloodstain. I'm not sure if it's worked but I couldn't think of anything else to put there.

 

My girlfriend upon seeing this: "You've finished another one? Let me have a look GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME IT'S HORRIBLE!"

 

Kevin Williams did a fantastic job on making such a small sculpt be so unbelievably creepy.

Definitely gives off an "Are you my mummy?"  creepy vibe. Well done!

Sometimes negative space is more telling than a base filled with stuff. However, here are some suggestions: scratches across the bloody floorboards, nail details in the boards, toys like a jack in the box, top or, a tiny voodoo doll, bloody animal collar. I noticed an L shape under the dolls mouth...paint it to look like a cats tail. Fun stuff for halloween jack o lanterns, a white sheet ghost costume (as if this monster is what was underneath the costume) trick or treat .

All those are excellent ideas. Thanks! This figure comes in packs of two, so at some point I'll do the other one and give your ideas a shot.

It feels "lost" indeed but that just makes it that much creepier! Your composition is perfect. It's like a mini diorama!

No, I think it KNOWS you're it's mother.
