June 21 what's your favorite statue or fountain

I like the water fountain at Best Buy in Bee Cave; re, the water is always cold & pleasant tasting.

@paintybeard: My wife and I were just looking through a box of pictures, including a bunch I shot when I was about 10 years old. They included several photos of Nelson's Column, shot on B&W film with an Instamatic.

Your pic is better. ::D:

Hmm, this is somewhat of a tough one, because I don't pay much attention to such things it seems.   That and I haven't had any coffee yet.  Uhm....

For statues, I'll go with Drumheller's T-Rex..... And fountains, uhm.... I used to be rather fond of the water shoot display thingy in Galaxyland...

Can I choose the Mindbener?  It isn't a statue, but it's a fixed object and man it has a lovely roar to it, especially on that first drop...  And the dual loops...

July 20. You did what, to the moon?

We made it quake in its boots...it’s all shook up.

It is Worth visiting all the NASA APoD pages from about July 15 to about July 23 (look for the tiny <   > fwd back arrows) because they are on a theme of: “50 years ago — first Moon landing mission”.

Not sure I have one, really...

I mean, I have a little concrete dragon in my backyard that's pretty awesome...

The Mustangs of Los Colinas

These horses are both fountain and bronze statues. The splashing water under their hooves that helps give the illusion that they are moving is provided by small fountains placed there for just that purpose.

Not my favorite sculpture, but it might be worthwhile to mention Blucifer:

Slate article

The demon horse of Denver International killed its sculptor while it was being made. And yes, the eyes are glowing red.

July 19. Do you go to any conventions?

Yes.

If so, which ones, and what do you go there to do?

ReaperCon

I go to that. Classes. Melt table. Hanging out with folk. Used play Warlord a little. Tried Frostgrave. I take photos of the paint competition entries. I have yet to enter.

Once Upon A Time there was a convention put on by a band of historical gamers. The acronym of the sponsoring group was HMGS. But it fizzled out and disappeared. I can’t remember the name of it for sure. Both hotels they used for venues have been torn down. ::(:

It was always fun, always had games with model figures to try. I battled in the War of the Roses, against Commanches vrs US Cavalry vrs Missionaries vrs Miners (that one was based on a Western movie), the Boxer Rebellion, Pirates, I refought that Army of Darkness movie in 15mm, Age of Nelson sailing ships, they always had a variety of games to try.
