Wargameterrain dot blogspot dot com is good. As is tabletopnews and geekandsundry.

Why not have updates on the KS where you run through creating a crew, setting up, playing the game? You could reuse/select some of the rulebook content and run though different factions and pros and cons.

Hi. I'll be adding a video with some explanation of game play this weekend and changing the main page around a bit  with some more gameplay focus, for sure.

We have now been mentioned by tabletopnews and I think Wargameterrain are in the process of putting something together. Will contact geekandsundry. Thanks for the tips!

Timing probably isn't really helping the campaign. With an estimated delivery of October 2019, I imagine potential EU backers might be reluctant to go in. I mean, have the shipping date slip by just one month and you're smack in the middle of whatever mess Boris Johnson is going to make of Brexit.

Mmm. That's a good point, as slippage is common in Kickstarters and it would be wrong to promise that we'll deliver on time, because as much as I'm confident we will, unforeseen things happen.

I think trying to chop out the mid KS lull has killed a lot of KS projects.

Sounds good, but doesn't really work.

People like having more than one paycheck to think things over.

Once you have enough regular backers, maybe.

But launching a new game with miniatures takes longer. Hell, I don't know how Grumpy found out. I mostly hear of things from him or from here. For all I know he just randomly Googles Pirate Kickstarter once in a while. <_< I was joking when I wrote that, and then realized it could be true. <_<

Yeah, this is the first time we've done one this short for a higher target. The last one (the dwarves which you backed - thanks!) didn't seem to be a problem at all. Oh well, you live and learn. As I've said, I'm still going to be pushing this one day in and day out until the end to hopefully get it over the line.

Not this time... (But yes, I do.)

This time I noticed a thread on Dakka Dakka - and only because I went to the second page. If I had just scanned the first page of threads....

The mid-KS lull is depressing - but it does seem like trying to get rid of it is a recipe for falling short of the goal.

I am pretty sure that trying to get rid of the lull is part of what led to Stretch Goals - keep people interested, keep people entertained, and make them feel like they are contributing.

Midlam pulls it off, as do a few others - but they also have an invested customer base.

Places to post to bring customers - Paizo boards - they have an entire pirate adventure path, and interest.

Frothers - we just plain like minis with character.

Here.

DakkaDakka.

The Miniatures Page used to be a good place, as well - but....

Maybe Beasts of War... they kind of turn me off, but they do reach an awful lot of people.

There may be one or two YouTube channels that would be a good fit.

Maybe contact a company where you can cross promote - Heroic Maps has maps of pirate ships, pirate hideaways, and pirate forts. Maybe see if they can provide one of their pirate maps as an incentive in return for advertising. (Captain Bastide's comes to mind - available cheap on RPGNow, and free on the Heroic Maps Patreon.)

Have a scenario specific to the map, to tie it in.

The Auld Grump - I hope this helps.

Thanks for all the ideas. Some of those sites have carried a story now, will look into Paizo. Frothers seemed quite negative when I looked there a few years ago, but still worth checking out of course

The mermaids are actually already available from www.deadearth.co.uk

But, right now better to get through the KS to give the numbers a boost!

Two thirds now, but only five days. So, maybe, maybe not?

The new KS is live and on way to being funded. Orc and goblin crew, "octopoid" head crew, fairy assassins and narwhals. And a rules supplement.

OMG!  Jason Weibe helped create the new Dwarven line being released on Kickstarter by Tomb Guardians!  These minis look so cool and they are cheap!  I haven't seen anyone post about this yet but here is the link.  It starts tomorrow morning.  They also said Bobby Jackson and Gene Van Horne created there monsters in the set.  Cant wait.   I purchased there Amazons and they were fantastic!  I posted some pics.  Im assuming the Fire Demon and add ons are in Resin.

Queen Titania will be cast in resin, 15 part kit, coming with a textured base. At an impressive 160mm height to the tip of the horns she towers over mere mortals on your battlefield unleashing nature's wrat
      h!
The kit can be assembled in two variants: with an ornate bikini armor or savagely topless.

Midlam keeps doing exactly what I want. Rounding up my collection with original miniatures that pairs up well with the original.

      A Note on Metal
We moving onto a lead free high quality pewter from a reputable metal dealer.  All our past metals had a high Tin content, but could contain a small quantity of lead (typically no more than 5%).  Even still, we cannot guarantee that any of our metal will be entirely lead free.
