Question for August 15th:

What would you say is your claim to fame? (i.e. your proverbial "15-minutes in the spotlight"?)

I have thus far led a life of anonymity. I am famous for falling through the cracks of Society.

I don’t think I have one. I can’t think of anything I’ve done that would be known to more than a few dozen to maybe a hundred people.

I was in a heavy metal band in the 80s and 90s. You never heard of us, but it was enough to be a minor celeb locally for a while.

I guess I'm working towards my fame, since I'm beginning to accrue regional art awards now...

This story revolves around one of the most dangerous psychopathic monsters alive, Henry Brisbon. A serial killer, who was so cold blooded there was a law actually passed called "The Brisbon Act" that if a killer awaiting execution on Death Row committed another attack, it would not delay his execution for the new case. He is considered one of the 10 most dangerous inmates in America's prisons. I worked at the prison he was at and was a member of our Tactical Unit, basically we were the ones who would dress out in armor when a disturbance broke out.

Anyway, a female reporter from a openly ultra liberal, socialist newspaper in Chicago, the Defender, got permission to come and interview Mr. Brisbon. Most of his victims had been women and he had just stabbed a Lieutenant in the lung the month previously. So when he was to be interviewed he would be in full restraints of leg irons, waist chain and handcuffs. We also had the interview set up in a supervision room. This is a small room with a window to watch high risk situations but you cannot hear what is being said. Well we had a full team dressed out for this, first, to move him and then for the safety of this reporter.

When her article was published, called "My friend in chains" she spoke of how he was mis-treated and that a "squad of goons" was standing by to beat him down if he said something wrong. Our picture was taken as we escorted him into the room. So I guess that was my famous moment.

Hmmmm. I love art and friends a lot! I also did some form of art daily for 2 years without any missed days a while back.

A couple years ago, I was surprised when I got online and saw that @CashWiley and several others had started up some sort of hashtag with my name as a challenge to do art every day for a month in December. Seeing so many friends dedicate all that art time was the coolest thing!

There are also few Mori-like busts and minis floating about, which is both amazing and terrifying. I'm just... me.

A few things. My job has resulted in my name being in the paper on a regular basis. Often weekly.

Additionally, when I was in college, I was on a campus safety poster (as a model, not as a "be on the lookout for" lol)

Finally, and perhaps coolest, there is a character in a couple of novels named after and based on me. Very minor character though.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Pretty sure the Secret Service has a file on me.

Probably editing a periodical that was nominated for an Origins Award (Games Quarterly Catalog). It never had a chance to win, because it was a direct-to-retailer product, so only retailers really even knew it existed. And frankly I wouldn't have voted for it, either.

But it was a nice gesture.

I'm not entirely certain that I have one.

The one time I could have potentially been on TV, I was actively avoiding the cameras, 'cause I wasn't entirely certain the Navy would have wanted me to be where I was.

I still showed up in the background of a few a shots, but managed to not have a camera/microphone shoved in my face.

Well, you ARE the reason all the rum is gone. Does that not count? >.>
