Legends of Signum Dragon Hunters - 8/20

Not yet, I'm concentrating on painting the minis first. Board Game Greek might have information on how it plays.

I'm in with an Early Bird. This and Bones 5 are the only kickstarters that I'm backing in the foreseeable future and that dragon is stunning ::o:

Sadly, BGG has a whole bunch of 1 ratings about the company and absolutely no comments about how the game plays.

Has anybody played the first Signum game?

I have. It's got You Go I Go activation as opposed to Alternate Activation and a card system that feels very Magic the Gathering. Essentially it feels like MTG but with the miniatures moving around on the table and interacting with each other instead of the more static MTG battlefield.

There are two victory conditions. One is by taking out the enemy general, the second is by accumulating Prosperity Points (basically victory points). However Prosperity Points are also what you use to activate cards and build buildings (buildings essentially being land cards). Generally the leader is the easier objective as the 51 point victory is a lot harder to achieve.

There are a lot of skills and abilities (similar to Malifaux or Guild Ball) which tend towards the simpler end of the scale but there are so many of them that it feels rather complicated as I've only played a couple of games and need some more to build familiarity.

That was a very brief overview. If you'd like something more detailed and specific then please let me know.

Thanks for the quick review.  Very much appreciated.  Think I'll have to consider this one based on the merits of the minis rather than the game - to be safe.

Well, I guess I can always tag one of them early birds while they are available. Just in case there appear to be some amazing stretch goals coming up.

I'm rather in the same boat right now. Grabbing that good value for money early bird is the new equivalent of fence sitting.

I feel like they're really missing an opportunity to just have a Dragon-only pledge where people can buy only the dragon. It'd probably really help with their overall numbers.

Jumped in on the early bird but I do not see a reason to stay for the moment.

Yeah, unless they create a dragon-only pledge that's reasonably priced, I'm not going to worry about it at all. Some gorgeous miniatures, but very few for the price, and I honestly don't care much about getting the game.

Exactly my thoughts, was excited about the dragon, but could not care less about the rest.

Begin your long journey in the forsaken caverns where flickers of shadow swell up from the backdrop of ancient rocks and darkened pools amid the torchlight. Enter the land of the spiders as you traverse these narrow paths and hollows with untold numbers of eight-legged, bloodsuckers on the prowl. It would seem that a moment of respite can be found here, as you stumble upon the ruins of an ancient temple. But it is not the holy place it once was. Decayed and covered in thick overgrowth, mystery awaits you as you journey forth. Legend holds that a beautiful and powerful witch once dwelt in this great tower. After a tragic loss, her madness grew in a storm of grief. Some say she still lingers here, immortal, feasting on the flesh of all those who wander into the ancient mountain pass. Creatures of darkness plague this mountain village; there will be no sanctuary for you here. Those who still dwell here may prove even more dangerous than the night hordes responsible for the hundreds of dead buried nearby. An old villager takes you as far as they dare before sending you forth onto what the locals call, The Path of Despair. Here you find the ancient ruins of the city of Irkalla as ghostly moans rise up from the Gate of Souls...
