Ahhh, so that's what he's called!  I'm terrible at getting the names for these things :-)

 

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with his outcome! I was hoping to do the blades in some kind of organic-looking material, possibly a chitin or shell, but got lazy toward the end and went with traditional steel.  :-D

for organic blades, I like reapers old bone highlighted with skeleton bone and then the sharpened edge done with a very light blue/white.  I like you take on this, nicely organic.  For a base, I think he just needs more:  maybe put him on a 25mm base and use a little clay or putty to roughen the ground on the extra base material?

I'll try that with old bone next time, thanks!

 

I may spend some time adding bases to some of these bones... a lot of them seem to have insufficient basing, especially given the bonesium's inherent flex... :-/

I usually find that even if the base is larger, I have to put them on a black plastic base if I want to use them on the tabletop or they occasionally fall over.
