Unfortunately that reminds me:  I have to have a conversation with one of my employees on the definition of available.  As in you don't finish a startup job and then disappear for the weekend unless you have someone lined up to act in your stead.  For better or worse I wasn't feeling well today so I didn't go to the concert my better half was playing in and wss there to take the call.  Otherwise the plant would probably still be down.

 

Sigh the things you think people would just know and wouldn't need reinforcement   I've saved this one's head from the chopping block once.  I'm not excited about repeating it but letting him go just dumps more work in my lap.

I may have found an adventure to run for Call of Cthulhu at PAX.

 

I found a 32 year old pdf with ASCII maps in a dusty folder in the depths of my external HD, it might be one of the files I managed to acquire in the 90s and saved from various HD failures through sheer luck.

 

Oh relax, that's how I store all of my Call of Cthulhu adventures. It adds to the impact. My SAN score is N/A anyway.

 

I read it, it seems like it'll work. I'll sleep on it then this week if it still fits I'll tweak it to fit my needs, build some prepared characters and a few backup characters, register my game, and profit.

Hmm. Yes, I would say successful. Things did NOT install per print. They didn’t back in summer when they tried the first time when I wasn’t there. But, after a few suggestions, some coaxing, and manipulations, it didn’t work this time either. Then a sudden realization from the stress engineer that we had 200lbs of margin, it worked.

 

He’s lucky I already did his annual review (coworker feedback).

 

As for fun? I should have had a lot of fun. But my enthusiasm wasn’t here, and that drove my manager (who also flew in) a bit crazy. VAB and launch pads? Nah, I’m good. Vacuum chamber used for Apollo? Well, what else would they have used? There’s even Neil Armstrong’s urinal somewhere nearby, and it’s okay that I not go see it. 
 

I dunno. Maybe I was tired and trying to do a job. Maybe I am cynical about the future and it grinds on me. All I know is I have a flight home today and can sleep in my own bed if they don’t get a total dumping of snow. Maybe when I come back next year to do this again, I can find some excitement for myself.

Doubtful. 

 

Rule 45: Clean up the mess that you make. 

 

What happened is: you cleaned up the mess. If instead, you and Boss-of-Juan had worked together to enforce Rule 45 on Juan, his potential to learn things would have been far greater.

I painted a whole bulette yesterday. It was awesome. (Burrowing horror, 77372) Per hubby’s suggestion, the scales on the back are very dark, while the sides are a lovely dark purple. 
 

Sadly, I could not find my box of paints. I hid it too well. But one of folks there had paint adequate to the task and brushes that were not terrible.

Soulless ouphes taking the place of five out of six of the PCs.... Half HP, and -2 to all skill checks, to hit rolls, and damage. Megan's character was split off from the rest of the group, and then formless lumps in the shadows took on a semblance of the rest of the group, but smelling of dust and rot, movements uncoordinated and lacking in grace. Eyes empty... and each is being played by another player, rather than their own, so they just aren't quite right.

In my search results there was info on** other sports, teams other than the varsity boys football team, some of the results were the girls teams. 

 

**I failed to make my search specific enough to exclude extraneous results I wasn’t curious about. But info on girls teams is out there. 

A few.

 

Girls sports are WAAAAAY. underfunded, and have a lack of participation. And the way some people were going off on women's soccer this year I don't think that is changing anytime soon.

 

I don't know if Zoe is on the team or not, she may have just been in the audience? I know she plays soccer.

 

Zoe is Becca's older sister, but doesn't play RPGs.
