Was supposed to go to a board game day with Husband and friends. I woke up at 5 am after having been up 'til midnight last night and have been having head pain and stomach upset all day. I managed to get a nap in about the time Husband left which was much needed. Now to switch up some Minivember prep and get thins ready so I'm not scrambling Friday.

All told, 3lbs of bacon. There will also be pancakes and eggs.

And, once this is consumed...a war troll. I'm sure it will be fine.

Well you're an awesome host.

So..thanks for inviting me, and what is the rest going to eat?

Doubtful.

Rule 45: Clean up the mess that you make

What happened is: you cleaned up the mess. If instead, you and Boss-of-Juan had worked together to enforce Rule 45 on Juan, his potential to learn things would have been far greater.

Unfortunately, when you are dealing with a Production Situation there are other people depending on the sabotaged piece of equipment functioning correctly in order for them to complete their jobs in a timely manner.

Sometimes Rule 45 is overruled by the specific circumstances.  This is one of those circumstances.

And yes, I characterize the mishandling of the equipment as sabotage.  Ignorance is no excuse in a situation like this, nor is a lack of common sense.

The application fo Rule 45 to this situation is for the Responsible manager to terminate Juan, for cause.

Landed.

@Inarah Sorry for no restaurant reviews for Cocoa. Spent all my time at Titusville. Coworker really liked the Preacher Bar tho. Says they have a beer called Kentucky Bourbon. Tastes like bourbon but without the bite. Still a high alcohol content. And manager really liked places along the port.

Well, this is the wrong thread for that...

It's turned into a really nice afternoon. Just back from walking the girls. Now back to studying.

@Unruly, you should definitely do it next weekend.

Oh man, if I brought a bunch of my cards that got covered in drywall dust when my mom refinished my old closet... Hoo boy... That stuff doesn't like to come off easy when it's been sitting there for 10 years.

I may have found an adventure to run for Call of Cthulhu at PAX.

I found a 32 year old pdf with ASCII maps in a dusty folder in the depths of my external HD, it might be one of the files I managed to acquire in the 90s and saved from various HD failures through sheer luck.

Oh relax, that's how I store all of my Call of Cthulhu adventures. It adds to the impact. My SAN score is N/A anyway.

That somehow seems like the appropriate way to store Call of C'thulu stuff anyway....forbidden knowledge hidden away in some dusty location, just waiting for some unsuspecting fool to find it....

I painted a whole bulette yesterday. It was awesome. (Burrowing horror, 77372) Per hubby’s suggestion, the scales on the back are very dark, while the sides are a lovely dark purple.

Sadly, I could not find my box of paints. I hid it too well. But one of folks there had paint adequate to the task and brushes that were not terrible.

My fingers are paint stained ^_^

Yay!!

So after 25 years or so cheering for the Pittsburgh Penguins I finally got a chance to see them in my first trip to a NHL game in Dallas.  I had a great time made even better by then winning.  I am definitely looking forward to going to another game.

I agree, hockey games are fun to go to.

So, one of my players' characters does tend to cook a lot of the stuff they kill for the party. Not sure whether they'll eat the troll, though.

They actually didn't get to the troll today. Instead of having one giant encounter with the troll, a cleric and a bunch of mooks, the players killed a sentry, disguised one of their number as that sentry, sent the disguised PC in to raise the alarm at the enemy camp, and wound up fighting several small skirmishes by leading "reinforcement troops" out to be ambushed at the original sentry's outpost. The enemies back at camp rolled miserably to see through the disguise, and now the PCs will be able to fight just the cleric and the troll next week.

I actually love the way this went, even if it wasn't the way I expected it to go. Recon and craftiness worked very well for the party... There's a first time for everything!

When my friend goes to the airport, which he used to have to do often for work and may still with his new job, he always wore as little as possible. Basketball shorts, a t-shirt, and flip flops were his travel wear because it made going through security about 400x easier. He'd have a change of clothes in his carry-on that fit the climate he was flying to, and he'd change at the terminal on arrival. Airlines can't lose your carry-on. If it gets lost, that's on your stupidity.

I have had to check in my carry-on luggage before (small plane and carry-on about the size limit). It would be possible for the airline to lose it in that situation...

That said, I always wear trousers and a jacket on a plane. They keep the things way too cold to be in t-shirt and shorts. I deal with the security by putting all the stuff I normally keep in my trouser pockets into my jacket pockets and just throw that through the scanner. No fuss, no muss.

Well, been sitting here for 3 and a half hours now. No takers, again. And no one else here is playing anything interesting. It's the same people I've seen every week playing Magic and the Pathfinder group in the corner.

I honestly think that if I brought some of my old Magic stuff in to play one of these days the guys here would crap their pants. Pretty much none of my cards are sleeved, or even in deck boxes. A lot of them are totally beat to crap from being played with at lunch in the high school cafeteria and just rubber banded together and thrown in a backpack for travel. These kids have every card sleeved, stored in bulky padded boxes, and they even have special neoprene mats that they play on rather than just playing on the bare or cloth covered tabletop.

A couple of my cards are pretty dang valuable, too. If I brought those out and just played with them like I always did, as described above, I may be able to get one of them to faint...

Have you heard the story behind the Unglued card "Chaos Confetti"?
