I made a beef roast rubbed with pepper and garlic. I also sauteed some bacon and half an onion to make for some tasty oily garnishing (and at the whole thing  )

And managed to steal 3 tater tots for a grand total of 6 evil carbs ::P: It's not that they're totally banned, it's that sane people eat them by the fistful and I had to content myself with three like I was Persephone with a pomegranate.

Still, 3 feels like it was enough. I feel better.

Have you tried offering the river god a couple of bagels? Might help.

She seems more like a Krispy Kreme kinda girl.  She has so far refrained from turning the parking lot into a moat but it's a bit disconcerting having the alligators able to step directly onto our lawn rather than having them 30 or so feet down a slope. I'm not sure who is more nonplussed by the situation we find ourselves in, us or the alligators.

Locally there is a convention going on here at the moment. Monday is a holiday here so it’s still going on.

It’s a Fan Expo. More of a “meet the celebrity” and comic book, “ look at all the cool stuff to buy “ convention and not really a gaming convention.

Still kind of a neat thing to go to if you have the money and the inclination to buy nerdy stuff.

My hobby money is already spoken for and  for me there’s no must see celebrities attending this year so I’m not going.

Well dang, post-con let down hit way sooner than usual. Which is disappointing, since I felt worlds better this weekend than I have in several months.

I still wouldn't trade it for anything though! And I have all the warm buoyant memories to look back on and remind me of what it's like to be 100% myself.

No sadface reactions allowed! It's getting warmer and sunnier every day, and my mood has been noticeably improving along with it. I begin to suspect I may in fact be solar-powered. Which is fine, that means I can start looking for options to deal with winter this year in advance.

Eh that was a bit rambly; I blame it on its 3:30am-ness.

If such turns out to be the case, next time purchase a nice daylight lamp.

It might help, also consider taking some vitamine D.

Had a 3 day weekend, by taking Friday as a vacation fast, since I felt I needed a mental health day.   I would say the weekend was a bit mixed.   Played Skyrim and Thea 2, that was lots of fun.   Finished our taxes, which is always dreary, but great when it's done.  We get $$$ back from both Federal and State this year.

Had some annoying health things pop up, a terrible sinus headache last night,  it was so painful I felt nauseous.  And Saturday,  my stomach decided that a full system flush was the thing...  blergh.

On the food front, had gluten free pizza from Domino's to celebrate being dinner with the taxes, and earlier I had made pork lentil stew with tomatoes, carrots and rice,  and the husband loved it.   Which surprised me a bit,  since he usually isn't a big fan of stuff all mixed in a pot,  especially if it's a bit spicy.  I went for a bit of Indian inspired spice complement in that one.

COFFEE!!

3 day weekend is going okay. Studying is being accomplished. Food has been made. Taxes have had a first run through. :zombie: Not happy with the results, but... Every year, this makes me wish I lived in a civilized nation.

Last night's D&D game I managed to kill off another character with the swamp gas room. Sorry @Dilvish the Deliverer, you seem to be getting the brunt of my abuse!  It did help to clear a mental block about how <redacted> was going to work, so I've got a little work to do in the next week to get that all written up. And I still need to write up <redacted> for when they eventually go there.

Really just want to spend the day painting. At least I'm not at work. Or wearing pants.

Taught an intro painting class on Saturday. Went pretty well, including people who had never been able to paint eyes that looked like eyes getting decent results and a kid who was about 7 doing a fairly decent job on getting cloak highlights. Fun stuff.

Unlike @OneBoot, we're getting away from the midwinter drought (pretty typical for January) and getting more snow again. Expecting 3" (~8 cm) tonight. And not even on the ski slopes where it belongs.

(Though actually the mountains have been getting hammered the last week or two.)
