Sylverthorne
More accurately, one NEEDS to participate however they feel comfortable. Nobody ever believes me when I point out I'm an introvert, but I need recharge time where I'm not doing something social. Sometimes I can get that by parking my bum someplace (paint and take, Hobby Hijinks, my own table, provided I've scrounged one), and sometimes I need to go and not be around people for a bit. So, basically, you can probably count on there being super-nice, friendly people who will ask if you like hugs (careful hugging Guindy .. um.. it's probably only heartburn. >.> ), and offer you lots of advice, help and someplace to plug in your phone/painting light, and probably enable you in the vendor area, when you're not taking classes on .. Stuff. I'm pretty sure you'll fit right in; it's a room full of quirks and weirdness and there's always space for more. ^^; Forumite Bingo is a really good way to meet people. We WILL point you at people, and it's not unusual to for someone to turn up at a table, notice bingo cards and fish their own card out while checking to see if they're on the other person's card. We're fun like that (I ended up putting my name on my personal card so I wouldn't lose it in an exchange.. this has almost happened. <.<). Also... bring a dangle or tag or something to put on your swag bag, if you plan to carry it around the convention; umpty hundred of the dang things all look identical, and this year, that was a problem. 6

As nice as the swag bag is... the stuff in it was immediately transferred to my personalized bag for the very reason that they all look alike, and the swag bag itself went to my room to put other stuff in as it got back up there. 4
klarg1
On a personal note, my odds of making it to ReaperCon 2020 will depend heavily on the events of the next couple of months. The positive side of that being that I might not have to wait until the last 3-4 weeks before making a decision.

haldir
I'm hoping to come down again. The date still irritates me. I'm kinda waiting on bosses to put up a new calendar for 2020 but due to I need to put my LVO/Vegas request in soon (like this month), I may request it then. I missed going this year, 14 years straight making the trip down, really implants into yah. I did enjoy my trip over to Eugene & such with my wife, no doubt, but it's not the same as trip with friends & my hobbies.

I went to the RC2019, and dragged the wife and kids along. By the end of the weekend we all agreed that this is what we’re doing for Labor Day weekend from now on! Next year I hope we’ll be able to get into more classes. We signed up late and there wasn’t much left this time. I bought a VIP pass this year, and I understand that if I do that I’ll get early access to class sign-ups. Since I registered late that didn’t help for 2019. Next year, if I get one VIP pass for myself, will I be able to sign up the kids and wife for classes early too? I want to get us all into a conversion class and have more options for another class or 2 for the wife and kids also. Adendum to stuff Pegasus did not address: VIP attendees goe a VIP Ribbon and additional swag. Last year the major item was one full kit of paints [random distribution of kits, the full line is split into two kits] from the new Pathfinder Line. Between my wife and I and an extra VIP Swag purchase we have a full set of the Pathfinder Paints, plus extras. We also have multiple complete sets of all the various faction minis. The VIP Swag varies from year to year but between the early access for classes and all the goodies we find it to be good value for money. Pegazus
Public Service Announcement: There are only 304 days left until the Friday entry deadline! I’ve been in a lull with motivation lately, but have been plugging along with making more jungle leaves. I have a possible glue solution delivering Thursday, and two more “alien” plant sources collected, although I could use a lot more orange/Clementine stems. How’s your entry coming along? 2

I was kind of bummed, I kept wanting to talk you you this go around, but every time I had an opportunity, you were off in the opposite direction, disappearing around a corner. I started thinking you were trying to hide from me. 22 minutes ago, Pegazus said: How’s your entry coming along? Heh, I'm still sculpting for Bones V. My sculpting backlog is getting considerable. Once I clear that,THEN I can consider painting something.
