Depending on usage, it should qualify under either "combat vehicles" or "ammunition". (2 MT at 10 kps will make a big enough crater to qualify as ammunition, I think. )

The definition of the "Ordnance" category is a little squishy, but I would approximate it as including anything which is mostly mechanical. I would think pretty much any form of vehicle would qualify, from motorcycle through starship.

 

@Heisler or @Clever Crow would be able to be more definitive.

Are we referring to the launch platform or the Ordnance itself? If it’s a big rock for a kinetic strike I don’t think it will due to well in the scoring but would technically qualify for the category. The launch platform would certainly qualify.

Don't forget that you can use the ship itself for a kinetic strike. Deorbit a big ship and smash it into your target and the result will be the same amount of energy as a medium-smallish nuke. It might even be shielded from the atmospheric heating, so the energy will be nicely focused.

 

And no fallout, so you can take what's left for yourself.

What I'm hearing is that I can't score a gold in this category even if I threaten to obliterate the convention center from orbit.

(I was assuming @Colonel Kane was referring to the space craft rather than the rock, but I could be wrong.)

I read the first line and will admit I had a little panic.

 

My main entry is currently needing some additional fine tuning on the fitting and then I need to bit the bullet and commit to gluing it together.  I also need to work on the diorama that I started for 2019 but didn't get finished. :)

Er.... that may be a technical loophole. The purchasing system is confusing enough. I'll say that you probably could do that (I bought my wife's ticket and classes via my account; just have to edit the attendee part later), but in the spirit of things (and possibly getting that loophole closed before tickets next go on sale), you should only get the early classes that the VIP would be taking.

 

If you get four VIP ticketss, then have at it, of course.

VIP attendees goe a VIP Ribbon and additional swag.  Last year the major item was one full kit of paints [random distribution of kits, the full line is split into two kits] from the new Pathfinder Line. Between my wife and I and an extra VIP Swag purchase we have a full set of the Pathfinder Paints, plus extras.  We also have multiple complete sets of all the various faction minis.

The VIP Swag varies from year to year but between the early access for classes and all the goodies  we find it to be good value for money.

Thanks @Pegazus and @Green Eyed Monster.  GEM - were you giving out the green "Twinkled" ribbons?  If so, I think my kids cornered you for ribbons in the elevator as we were going to check out on Monday.  I don't even know how they found out you had ribbons to give out!

 

Yes, I meant to buy 1 VIP pass for me, 2 regular adult passes for my wife and 13yr old, and a child pass for our youngest.  That's what we did this past RC, but I registered too late to sign up for the classes I wanted.  I took a few that I could get into, but was only able to get the kids into the Gathering of the Adventurers/Monsters class.  They wanted to do the Bones Mashup, Chibi, and unicorns/dragons class too. 

 

I signed everyone up for their classes from my login as well Pegazus.  I guess what I meant to ask is whether I'm supposed to be able to sign the rest of my group up for classes early too, sort of the way your whole party can join your boarding group when you're getting on a plan.  I wouldn't want to take advantage of a loophole in the system to do it if that's not the intent.

 

I thought the VIP pass was a good value as well, GEM.  I got one set of the PF paints, and then bought the other at the Reaper shop.  It wouldn't be worth it to get VIP passes for the whole family, though.  My wife is a good sport - she took the 101 class and painted during the con and had fun, but she doesn't do it otherwise.  The kids paint a little, but they're not that into it.  VIP passes for everyone would cost me an extra $425 (my daughter's child pass is free).  I'd essentially be buying 3 extra VIP swag bags so that I can sign them up for a couple of classes early.

 

Do all of the classes fill up right away?  Do you all think I'd be able to get the kids into the mashup and other kid-friendly classes if I don't get them VIP passes?

Nobody ever believes me when I point out I'm an introvert, but I need recharge time where I'm not doing something social. WOOHOO! It looks like I will be able to make it this year! Drive all day Wednesday [mapping says 11 hours, but that's expecting me to drive the posted speed limit] so being by myself, I can do it in one day. That way I can plan on doing all 4 days! How do I get my name on Bingo cards?

ANd when can I sign up for @haldir's Starfinder game?

I put up a sign-up thread for the bingo cards about a month before the con. Take volunteers until a week before, so you’ll have to stick around long enough for that.

NEFO= Nuke Em From Orbit, it kind of has be come my new catch phrase. 

 

As to the painting entry, I doubt I would enter anything into the competition. My painting skills are not where near that good. I was being a smart butt as usual. I would not want to cheapen the contest with my meager skills.
