Huzzah! --OneBoot :D I ordered 100 ribbons last year, and it was just the right amount. I was getting extra generous on Saturday to give them all away. Many children got certified "Not Actually Cranky".

I keep thinking about ribbons but then real life interferes and I run out of time. So, chocolate it is! My Niffler runnng mate, Nick Anything, gave out chocolate coins and I gave out ribbons. Nick should be back this year with a treasure chest of chocolate coins and candy "gems". I should have ribbons. I found out that a plastic travel kit soap holder makes a very easy way to keep ribbons organized, so I didn't end up with a handful of ribbons going every which way. dusty 184 Report post Posted March 2, 2020 So for the painting competition, I was thinking that Reaper should allow for entry under "sponsor only" consideration rather than requiring that the entry be relegated to one of the categories. This way I think the sponsors would get more participation. Thoughts?

Sort of a category for that sponsor’s products only, with the entry not being considered for, let’s say, the Open category? Thus inly judged by the sponsor? If you only painted bombshell miniatures why shouldn’t they also receive reaper medals for the appropriate category? As a participant, part of the appeal to me is to get the score and feedback from the Reaper judges while ALSO highlighting the great work of one of the sponsors. I'd be sad if this were changed.

There is no intention to change it at this time, it really doesn’t fit with the Reaper vision of the competition which encourages painters to enter their best pieces regardless manufacturer.
Dilvish the Deliverer 50844 Report post Posted April 5, 2020 Well, I have switched from unlikely to attend, to attending. Plane tickets are cheap and I scored $318 round trip on Southwest. The Overtime I worked these last two weeks have paid for my flight and my share of the room. See you all in September. 12

Sounds like: More work for the people setting up the gallery space; More work for the judges; More bother for those trying to organise the judging....

When entries are submitted they ask you at the desk who the manufacturer is, and/or how you want it entered and the entry is accordingly filed in the system so that the manufacturers and judges for those specific entries are easy to locate and individually judge for the “sponsor only” stuff. I don’t actually know if the second half of my statement is correct, but it would seem to be the most obvious reason why they ask who the manufacturer is. For instance, my Galladoria entry last year had a pair of mouselings and I was asked by some of the sculptors why I hadn’t entered it as a mouselings entry instead of “Galladoria.” It made me feel like I might have cheated myself and also that maybe the system needs to be updated in cases where you have 2+ manufacturers as part of one entry.
