A funny thing happened on the way to ReapeCon.

About a week ago, remembering I had ordered the Mega Bundle, I began to wonder where it might be.  Being mildly obsessive and not having received a mail confirming shipping, I went back to my credit card records to ensure that I had been charged for the Mega Bundle.  No luck.  I checked PayPal.  No luck.  I went to my Reaper account.  No record of ordering the bundle.  I was floored. I swore I had ordered it.  I would have bet I ordered it.

But, I recovered and began planning to be online when the excess swag boxes were put on sale.  Sitting here, mildly concerned that I wouldn't be able to get the three boxes, I noted that a Reaper order was incoming.  It made sense.  I'd ordered all my class materials and had been notified that they were shipped.

UPS just dropped of the box, which seemed large.  I opened it and noted that it was stuffed with packing material.  And the three Swag boxes.

I should have trusted my memory.  But now, being mildly obsessive, I have to figure out why I did not find a record of the order or a charge on my credit card.  But that's a happy problem.

Debating on dropping my ReaperCon game right now. With the county shutdown wiping out live events at the FLGS, I'm kinda starting to feel like games just weren't meant for this year. Also having a hard time adapting to roll20. It won't accept the maps I want to upload & when it does, it's hard to get em to look right & such. I think there is just too much for me learn before I run that game. I eventually need to figure it out as it seems like online rpging may be the only viable way to game here at home as well, but right, just a hassle right now.

You too?

I sometimes think I already have everything I am buying ... somewhere.  Because I always seem to stumble on the thing I already had right after I just bought it again.

The mountain is always higher the closer you get to it.

True but this is one mountain that is seriously kicking my butt right now. A little under 3 weeks to go & I don't have any maps uploaded & other things related to prepping for the game. I uploaded a couple of Heroic Maps that were meant to be VTT maps this morning at 7ish, I went upstairs took a nap for about 2 hrs came down & it was the same as I left it. 2 blank bars. I tried uploading some tokens I found, those uploaded fine. It's frustrating & again, part of it is the loss again of live gaming at my FLGS.

I've worked this entire time at my job during this pandemic. I don't get the luxury of working from home, or from sweatpants (well I could get away with that for at least 2 nights......) or other "stay at home" orders. Gaming at my store is or was the way I could get out, see some friends & such. Sucks, as I/the game store crowd follow all protocols during "these times" (oooooo I actually said it!!) vs some of the "broccolis" in this town. We are the ones that get punished for idiots. Gotta love people some days............

I'll hold off for now but as it gets closer to the Con weekend, it's gonna make my decision allot easier if I can't even master the basics of map uploading/sizing....

@haldir I would strongly encourage you to reach out for help on the Discord. I'm sure there are other GMs there who are used to those programs who would be more than happy to help you out.

I know the past few months have been difficult and frustrating but I know how much you love running games and you're not alone in any of this. If I could help you with your maps I would, but I wouldn't even begin to comprehend it but I'm certain that if you get on the Discord and put out a flare, someone will be able to help you. @Reaper_Jon may know who specifically could help you out or be able to more efficiently point you in the right direction.

@haldir - would be glad to help you out, there are a ton of GM's as well as Volunteers on the Discord where the games will mostly be ran. I can give you a class on how to navigate discord and im sure we can get people to help with maps and getting Roll20/d&D beyond/whatever else you need set-up, I can even watch some youtube videos and see what i can learn to help you out! :) Hell, you can even just not use any of those and just theater of the mind it up!
There are some really nice bots on the discord, that will let you roll dice, look up items, generate names and characters. very usefull and great stuff.
Just let me know and we'll figure this out.

My hubby just started our game up on roll20. There have been a ton of technical difficulties (including that he and I need to be on different floors or we get feedback, that was fun). Hes just drawing the map up in roll20, not uploading. But its been great just playing and getting together with our group.

Kind of disappointed there are no Hobby Hijinks on the schedule. I was looking forward to mass speed paints. I wonder if it is just lack of a volunteer to organize...

@Ludo has been doing that the last few years but I have not seen him online much this summer...

I put down on my class sign-up sheet that I'd be willing to help with it; thanks for reminding me to reach out to Ludo.

Huzzah!
