Cranky Dog
Darn it, due to a medical appointment with a specialist on Friday the 4th, I'll be missing most of that day's activities.

You can always visit the artists whose classes you were interested in on a different day and ask for the abridged version of their class? All the artists will be hanging out in their Discord "booths" at various points during the convention! Huzzah! --OneBoot :D

Not one color is duplicated among 6 classes. I own about half of them, and of the remaining items, my FLGS had ONE. And they're out of green stuff. If you are looking for putty for my class, you really do not need it for the class itself, but more for practicing the techniques and such that I show after class. I suspect that I will be moving too fast from one technique to the next for students to keep up with the pace. Unlike my Sculpting Nature class that I teach at in person Reaper Cons, since I can't monitor the progress of all the students in this format, it just isn't feasible to ensure that everyone is keeping up and getting it here. You'll be better served to take notes and screen shots and then try the parts you want later. I plan on being available in the Artist Alley much of the weekend for questions and private demos. 3

See if any of the classes you are interested have pdf handouts you can download. At least you can look at that. I am missing half of Friday and all of Saturday, too. 1 hour ago, TaleSpinner said: If you are looking for putty for my class, you really do not need it for the class itself, but more for practicing the techniques and such that I show after class. I took one of your classes last year, so I am hoping some of the material will be familiar and this is a 'refresher'.

The InOrganics will build on a lot of the same techniques, but with a lot more emphasis on obtaining hard edges, straight lines, and such.

Iridil
Hi all, There are two classes I singed up for that I can't find supply details about. This is quite possibly due to my lack of skills.... Anyone have any idea where to find info for stuff to have for: Lyn Stahls's Fast and Easy Effects (Sat 11am CST) or David Cecil's Realistic Water Effects/basing (noon on Friday CST)? Thanks for help and pointers!

Dicey
Is there any other way to find information about the Water Effects class than Discord? I've been avoiding Discord like I avoid Twitter. Looks like I may not be able to avoid it for ReaperCon, but I wish information was readily available on multiple platforms. 23 hours ago, Iridil said: Lyn Stahls's Fast and Easy Effects (Sat 11am CST) I really hope you have a better experience with her class online than I did last year in person. Hands down the worst class of the Con for me and it felt like a waste of money. But, since it's free online this year, what have you got to lose? And there's a good chance it may be better than my experience too. Just a cautionary tale, I suppose. Good luck.

The only other way would be to PM the instructor directly; he's on the forum as LordDave. Not sure how active he is, though. Unfortunately, Discord really is the best way to contact the instructors for ReaperCon, since that's where the "convention" is located; vendors, artist alley, etc. Huzzah! --OneBoot :D 1
haldir
Other & Swag Con metal minis are up for previews in the store!! (note none can be purchased right now) After seeing the mouseling crew on Live, I knew I needed those! (that reminds me, I need to enter my gift codes before this weekend. Sigh, seeing this is the week of the Con, my usual routine would be work this morning (check!) & then pack everything today & clothes Tues morning. I'd then wait for my mom or dad to come over around 1 pm & then I'd get a ride over to Boise to stay the night, so I can get a early morning (5-7am) flight out of there & be on my way for the Con. Since I didn't go last year, it'll be at least 2 years since I last stepped foot in Texas/Reaper. I'm hoping THAT trend stops next year!
Dicey
So, I bit the bullet and joined the Discord. I learned something there. Apparently, many of the class descriptions have been updated and even though the settings are such that they should be sending out emails to those registered when the description is changed, Zoom is not doing that. Reaper is already aware of the issue. In order to check to see if your class now has a google drive link for a handout, you need to go to the class, open the description and click the "Register" button, just like you were going to register for it again. When the Zoom page opens to register, you can see the updated class description, including any google drive handout links that have been posted. It is frustrating for me, as someone who registered for classes early, to have to go back and essentially "re-register" to be able to see the handout links. By the way, @Iridil - there is a handout for the Water Basing class. Who knows how long it has been there... Also, they are not hyperlinks, so you have to copy/paste them into your browser. 1
haldir
Well, time for me to send a email saying, I'm gonna drop my game. Just too much tech stuff & time remaining for me to overcome to get the game the way I wanted it to go. I really don't want to but with only 3 more days (tech 5 for my game). I was looking forward to DMing again for RCon. Hopefully next year it'll be face to face/sit down time again. I'll probably look into a couple classes now that I'm out of the gamemaster role for the Con.
