nytflyr
The Good? All of it! That being said, it had to be good as I didn't even know I was going up until about 6 weeks ago. I had a brain fart and failed to book a room, thus leaving me out in the cold (or in this case, the heat) but thanks to EvilCleric and Inarah, a room was acquired and I was able to soak in another ReaperCon. The Bad? The was no contest entry, no classes and no gaming, but that's ok cause I enjoyed just sitting back and painting miniatures, playing pinball and having conversations with my friends. Ill be a little more diligent next year concerning the hotel EDIT: a few other things, found some great food and coffee shops. Juicy Pig BBQ, Thai Ocha, Jupiter Coffee, & West Oak Coffee. Also hit Recycled Books for the second year and walked away with some pretty nifty stuff Edited September 1, 2019 by nytflyr
Pegazus
Here’s the announced statistics: At the first ReaperCon, there were 57 attendees. Last year, Ron thinks that there were 1073. This year, the 16th, saw 1576! Next years theme will be pirates, similar to what they did in 2012. And I recorded the auction results, pasted behind the spoilers below. I did not try to get any spelling right, nor accurate amounts, so no lip! If you don’t care for sticker shock, don’t look. For value reference, my Reaper Bucks came to $1300, which came from the VIP, swag, four classes, and two hobby hijinks. 2019 ReaperCon Auction 4 mugs $3100 Used paint set $6600 Large Reaper shirt $3300 Cobra $3900 Khanjira $4500 Hobby hijinks paint set (pathfinder 1 and 2) $4900 Badger chrome Jet airbrush $6100 Prototype Bones 5 print large mammoth $4700 Mahldrakar $5400 Tshirt large $1900 Hobby hijinks paint set (pathfinder 1 and 2) $5100 Bones Blacksting $3800 Echidnox (Legion of Cake) $3100 Riverwidows shirt small $2500 Pirates box Dragonspire Seas set #3 $4200 Two Bones paint set (new) and fungal queen $6900 Box of metal dungeon dwellers (6) $4100 Catfish gulper (messy glue) $3000 Obsidian crypt $3200 Starter paint set $5000 Wyrmgear $2900 Gruff game $2200 Badger airbrush pair Sitar and Patriot $7500 Bonesylvania expansion set $3600 Narlythotep $4500 Doug Cohen book $4300 Convention tshirt $2200 Badger chrome airbrush $5600 Bonesylvania set #2 $3600 Black 2xl tshirt $2700 Metal Reaper 4x $4200 Reaper Clock $9300 Dragon bust and mousepad $5700 Sophie blanket $11700 We Will Roc You $4500 Warlord book and miniature $4000 Smaller Reaper clock $6100 Chronoscope expansion $3900 Dungeon dwellers paint set $3500 Pathfinder paint set 1 $4500 Stack of reaper brushes $7900 I Love Ed Sculpt tshirt $4000 Guardians Call game $3800 Reaper Paint set #1 $4500 Gulper catfish $3700 Bonesylvania set 2 $3500 Riverwidows medium tshirt $2800 Classroom paint set $4400 Battle of dreadmere maggotcrown army, zombies, and dice (used game stuff) $3300 King Cobra bones black $3200 Mouslings tavern box set $4100 Mystic circle and mousepad $3400 Bonesylvania 2 $3000 Badger Sotar airbrush $4900 Reaper Bones Black 5x figures $4700 Dragon bust $3600 Sophie tshirt small $2200 Large paint set 1 $4900 Older Sophie Air Cav small tshirt $2400 Sophie blanket $7500 Battle of dreadmere River Widows army, zombies, and dice (used game stuff) $3900 Shipping container and mousepad $2000 Child small shirt $2900 Shugnugarath $3100 Reaper paint brush stack $4700 Metal miniatures random box set x6 $3100 Dragon turtle $3900 King Cobra $3100 Wood plinths $2900 Box of 6 reaper metal miniatures $3000 Argent $3700 Izzy art book $2700 Khanjira $3700 Tshirt xl $2700 Kraken $3100 Sotar badger airbrush $4100 Sophie blanket $5200 Reaper tshirt 2xl $2800 Used classroom paint set $4600 Large paint set 2 (108 paints) $4900 Autographed Izzy art book $2900 Mahldrakar $3900 Wyrmgear $3100 King Cobra $2600 Glittery silver paint case $5400 Zip polo long sleeve Reaper shirt $3900 Box of badger paint 18qty $3700 Kahnjira $2600 Doug Cohen book $3400 Bonesylvania 2 $2500 Xl tshirt $3700 Wrymgear $3800 Badger 12qty 3x (36 paints) $4500 Battle of dreadmere Duskwarden army, zombies, and dice (used game stuff) $3900 Sophie collection box set $4100 Bones 5 prototype storm giant $4400 Badger Patriot airbrush $3700 Learn to paint layer up box set $3400 Redline Games entire KS set $8800 Victoria Miniatures Sledgehammer BFG autographed $2600 Bones 4 Chronoscope expansion $2600 Medium tshirt $3700 Bones Dreadmere expansion $3900 Sophie blanket mermaid $3300 Blue glitter paint case $4100 6 Reaper metal dungeon dwellers $3000 Wyrmgear $2000 Reaper tshirt medium and mousepad $3000 Reaper paint set 1 $3000 Lord of the Jungle $1900 Battle of dreadmere C’thon army, zombies, and dice (used game stuff) $3200 Bones paint set 2 $3900 Hobby hijinks used paint pathfinder paints $3000 Lost Valley expansion $3800 Prototype Bones 5 dragon $6700 Prototype blue dragon $4100 Prototype dragon $5000 Badger paint set (36x) and airbrush $4200 Bones 4 core set $3900 Dragon on motorcycle large figure $2900 Learn to paint layer up, tshirt small $2400 Misc box of Bones July release $4000 Bones 4 Fans Favorites expansion $4100 Battle of dreadmere Bonehenge army, zombies, and dice (used game stuff) $3075 Color primers x16 $2500 Battle of dreadmere Blood Wolves army, zombies, and dice (used game stuff) $3200 Paint set 1 and 2 $3100 Paint set 1 and 2 $3000 Bones 4 Dark Reach expansion $3200 Dragzul (red dragon) Bones box $3100 King Cobra $3000 Learn to paint core skill set $3000 Four mugs (last auction) $5100 Edited September 1, 2019 by Pegazus 10
Clearman
The Good - I like that the MSP Open continues to grow. What did Anne say, 996 entries? (4 short of 1000 were her words). The level of painting continues to grow and I think I got some of the best feedback this year. The Bad - While I like that the number of vendors grew, I wasn't terribly happy with the selection. This is certainly not Reapers fault, and I definitely spent about the same about of money, I didn't have the same kid-in-a-candy-store feeling. I'm also sad that hanger 18 is going out of business
Pegazus
More stats: 61 people collected a Bingo card from me 26 people actually got a Bingo and thus the ribbon ... except, with the next math calculation, a problem arises that throws the above into question. I counted out that I have 98 blackout ribbons left. I ordered 100. I gave out much more than TWO. I believe i gave out at least 8 blackout ribbons, meaning they gave me extra on the order, and thus I probably gave out at least 36-ish Bingo ribbons.
corbie
Kind of a weird first forums post, but I guess thoughts of my first ReaperCon will work: The Good: Pretty much everything! This was the best con experience I've had in years. I spent most of the weekend at AL games (mostly DMing and a little playing), but I did get a session of Sophie Says and some paint and take done. Everyone I met (including and especially @Mocha!!!) were amazing. Hopefully I'll be confident enough in my skills to actually enter the competition(s) by then. Definitely planning to be back next year and take a few classes. And, thanks to @fletcherpeatross and his evil twin, I walked away from the auction with a set of 32 paints despite DMing during that block. B) The hotel and Ms. Rita also deserve special shout outs! Had a wonderful stay. The Bad: I understand why DMs didn't get swag bags until the end, but could we at least get programs at arrival next year? Not sure how much they would have helped, but I was a bit lost a lot of the time, especially the first two days. Also, GrowTix... just GrowTix... And RIP, my boys garbage children @ Disciples of C'thon. My meager supply of stickers weren't enough. ;_; Edited September 4, 2019 by corbie typo
Dilvish the Deliverer
There were programs availble at the registration desk all weekend IIRC. Thanks for running the games though. I had a blast playing the epic. 1

That seems like an oversight.
Swil0
The good: Seeing all my Reapercon friends, meeting the ReaperLive Team (Collins and Justin were awesome!) Getting some time to speak to several of the guest artists and instructors. Learning new techniques, and enjoying all 5 of my classes. All the minis I BOUGHT! Wuahahah. Oh and the EPIC Karaoke night, was so much fun and Derek Schubert and Mocha can REALLY sing! The Bad: No contest entry this year. Eating Hoolihan's 4 days in a row for lunch and dinner, not getting to take the Reaper factory tour, only getting to game for one night, and didn't get to collect as many ribbons as I wanted. All in All I had a wonderful time, and got to meet a few of my twitch buddies, I just wish I had a few more days off from work to recover from the convention.

I worked really hard and got lots of reaper bucks, he showed up to the auction and got free paints out of it. Win/win? 4
buglips*the*goblin
The award ceremony needs to start earlier now that it's so long. By the end I felt like I was on a different planet. A zombie planet. 14

I'm also sad that hanger 18 is going out of business Tabletop Plus and Happy Seppuku weren't there this year. I don't think miniature case guy was there either. Hanger 18 was a venus flytrap with their discount, we got ensnared every time we walked by. I'll miss them, too, now that I'm familiar with their cool stuff. I found selection better than last year but that's only because both years I was on the hunt for Warlord Games stuff and this year Warlord had a booth. I dropped a lot of money in the 6 feet between Frontline and Warlord. Mario at Frontline told me my spending spree with him last year for Warlord stuff was at least some of why Warlord came this year. My list of wanted items split just about 50/50 between what stock they each had, so I was able to share the love. Outside of my specialized item hunting, though, it did seem like the miniature-related booths were thinner.

In the FWIW category, Warlord was there because Ed talked to him at AdeptiCon earlier this year and convinced him to come down, since he lives in OKC. He said he did really well, and will definitely be back next year. I guess y'all just about cleaned out his stock of Lucid Eye figures! I told him I though they'd do well at this Con! Fates willing, I'll be helping man the booth next year.
