I always bring index cards for each of my entries and fill them out ahead of time.  This year I put it off until I got to the convention, but I've saved myself some stress by doing it before I leave home in the past.

On one I put my name and email, because they need that to enter us in the system.  On all the others I put:

1. Title of Entry

2. Manufaturer (ex reaper, darksword, etc)

3. Category (ex open, painters...)

4. Special award status (ex mousling, pink, chibi, etc)

I hand them to the Awesome Debbie.  She usually smiles at me.  This saves time and ensures my entries are spelled right (when I come up with funny titles...)

I do the same on a sheet of paper instead of index cards and have since my second ReaperCon. I have found having it ready definitely speeds things up

If a vendor didn't wanna, then he wouldn't hafta.  Capitalism is great.

Granted I’ve never been to Reapercon so I don’t know about the layout, but in conventions I have been to the vendor hall is located in a location that can be secured after hours.

An unattended booth in a vendor hall that is open isn’t really a vendors choice if he wants to ensure his merchandise doesn’t grow legs and walks out.

I haven't been to Reapercon yet but it sounds like a way to speed up the Entries line is needed. The suggestions from many of you about pre-writing you entry info should be made mandatory, don't get in line until all your cards/slips are filled out.

at the new ReaperCon location, there is actually a wall that slides out to block off the vendor hall entirely when they close. No access at all until they reopen the next day and the wall is opened once more

There were a handful of vendors who weren't open immediately upon the vendor hall opening (for whatever reason), and they had big sheets covering everything on their booth.  Seemed like a good solution.  Obviously, it's not going to prevent someone dedicated to helping merchandise sprout legs, but they're going to have a helluva time not looking really conspicuous about it.  Since, at that point, the vendor hall would also be filled with actual shoppers, I suspect that would be more than enough of a deterrent.

I also think that having a downloadable and printable form for registration would help speed things up considerably.  Lyn Stahl had put together one for the GenCon competition this year, and it worked great.  I've got no problem making it mandatory, provided there is a stack of blank forms available for the inevitable folks who forgot to fill one out ahead of time.

The idea about prefilling the cards out is a great idea, and simple enough to implement.  I would have done it last year, had I known anything about how they handled entries (it was my first MSP).   As the convention grows, dealing with first timers is important - a sample card or two and instructions for them should be part of the MSP entries/rules page, as well as some blank cards and instructions at the head of the line.

Better yet, and almost as simple would be a form fillable PDF for entries.

Harder to implement, but a lot easier for the data entry volunteers would be an online pre-registration system attendees to could use to print a form at home, or show a code on their phone to scan at the entry desk.

IMO, that last one should be a target goal for Reaper by no later than 2025 if con growth continues at this rate.

It was the Duskwardens that won the day. It broke down like this:

- Duskwardens - 11,700

- River Widows - 10,080? (I'm not sure I wrote this number correctly)

Well, I can tell that you wrote River Windows incorrectly ;)

- Bonehenge - 9,400

- Murkillor - 6,400

- Lights Hand - 5,550

- Maggotcrown - 5,530

- Blood Wolves - 5,430

- C'Thon - 4,220

River Windows got close.  There were more factions to fend off this year, our name got sabotaged, and Duskwardens had the "pet bonus" with their mini (this bonus helped Windows secure our debut win, too).

Still best faction, and we did good.  Windows 4 Lyfe, join us or let the rain come into your house!

Since we are going over to Pirates next year, the Windows are the only faction from Dreadmere that would make any sense to bring forward.
