Wow!  These look great!  They look exactly like I’d imagine them.  The skin and hair are perfect.

I have a few deep gnomes I need to paint for an underdark campaign I’m DMing.  Mine won’t look anywhere near this good, but I’m going going to use yours as a reference.

Thanks Rubegon!   I can't remember whether their skin started out with cloudy or stormy grey and I worked up and down from there. Not normally a problem, but I do want to pain the other three deep gnomes so hopefully I'll figure it out or the two groups might look kind of different!

If you do figure it out, please reply back if you have a chance.  Do you remember what you used on the hair?

These are great looking jobs!!  Whatever "errors" you think you see are in your own head because honestly I can't see anything I would change!

It’s the brutality of the closeup photo that kills me. If you look under the female gnomes’ left eye (from her point of view, where the hair flops over her face, I thought I saw that maybe I overpainted the pupil and it extender over the bottom of her eye, but when I get closer up to it through the miracles of modern digital photography, it looks more like an odd shadow.

Now that I see it in the photo, I should have done the male’s chain link brighter, even though I highlighted it up to white, so I don’t know if it’s the lighting or the actual miniature.

and the worst one, which I’m too lazy to fix I think is the lantern had some kind of links that I should have separated by dark lining, probably black, but at least dark elf shadow.

Those are the three worst ones I see immediately.

But they don't come across as "dark".  "Somber" maybe.

Then maybe we’d call it somber colors for some somber gnomes!

Presenting my first finished Bones V Kickstarter mini, the mighty Hercules!

I don't get much painting time these days, so he's a little rough and rushed in places, but he's done and he doesn't look too bad.

Considering this is a Reaper forum, I don't post nearly enough Reaper stuff!

Going to try remedying that by slowly going through that big box of Bones V I've got perched on top of my stack of unpainted things.

I'm starting with Hercules (Didn't expect him to be my first choice, but I have been watching a lot of Greek Myth stuff on Youtube lately):-

This is after I've prepped him, primed him, had a second go at the mold-lines (I'm trying to get better at this), re-primed and finally given a Brown Wash.
Got a little problem going on with his right arm, from the back it's all bulging muscle, but from the front the gap between his bicep and club is filled in with something. Not sure how to fix this, so I decided to paint it as part of his lion cape (And hope no one notices the two halves don't line up).

Huh, mystery solved. Looking at it now in these piccys, I can see that weird bit of arm is actually his thumb.

Painted his lion cape first (I'm a messy drybrusher).
This was a base of Iraqi Sand/Ochre Yellow, then a Brown Wash, then drybrushes of Iraqi Sand/Ochre Yellow and Iraqi Sand/Ochre Yellow/Bonewhite.
While the mane and tail end were a base of Iraqi Sand/Ochre Yellow/Leather Brown, Brown Wash and drybrushes of Iraqi Sand/Ochre Yellow/Leather Brown and Iraqi Sand/Ochre Yellow/Leather Brown/Bonewhite.
Finally, it got Bonewhite claws, Dwarf Skin paw pads and then everything got Sepia Wash.

While I'm on the computer I need to see if lions have special noses, if not then tomorrow I start on the skin of Hercules!

Presenting the Frost Giant Heroine from Reaper.

Not my best work, I'm still not great at getting all the mold-lines off these PVC minis, plus I was painting her to help work through some issues I was having so she's a bit on the rough and basic side.
Was still a lot of fun to paint up though, I'll have to get the other one done now.
