That backdrop for the cave entrance is a great idea. Painted by hand?

Thank you, yes it is hand painted on the back plate.

More progress and some question marks..

Added skulls, bones, a shield, moss and a plant.

A small stream, running into the cave (Thanks for the idea @Glitterwolf) With some weird faces, but they will be covered up..I think.. Completely or partly.. Im not sure yet. Ideas and suggestions is appreciated.

Also a photo with most of the rest of the things dryfitted (not the sword fighter, Who will be Jumping into the screaming troll-face from a tree branch) ..its a quite busy diorama, maybe too busy?

Critiq, comments, ideas, thoughts.. All is welcome.

Happy painting!

Awesome progress.

Not sure about the faces in the stream, I think a muddy stream will be more realistic, but if you want to give it a spooky / magical vibe, it can work.

I would like to see a straight on shot. The  tree placement doesn’t seem quite right and I think a different angle would help. The trees also look more “unfinished” compared to the rest. The Ettin’s feet are clashing with the ground around them. Pretty minor items in the end.

I will take a straight shot asap.. , but yes the tree is a bit in the way of sight..

The plan was to add some more leaves on the tree.. But maybe I should add more colors variation to the tree?

The ettins feet will be built more into the ground, he is not attached yet.

Here is a straight shot..

The sword fighter is going to jump from the branch that is kind of pointing at the trolls screaming face.

The tree is blocking the view (especially on pictures) to the girl, but it also gives some depth to the scene (or..does it?).  I could make it lower, and/or remove a couple branches..or I could maybe move the cage further to the right..

I would love to here your opinion@Heisler.. And others :o)

You could place the tree at the front right on the rock (maybe add some soil and let the roots protrude over the rock). One branch can then go left and give your miniature a platform to jump from. This way you have depth, but the tree won't obscure the scene.

I think it would be great too, to have a miniature on top of the left side rockface or in the back above the cave. Maybe another archer or someone with a sling.

New setup :o) ..

I like this.. Only down side is the distance between Jumper and the Ettin, its a long jump! But everything is more visible. I like the idea of a third attacker on the left rock face, but I did'nt have a suitable mini.. So I will problably stick to this. We'll see.

The Creek got more green, and no weird faces..

Im slowly making my way into the foreground..

It does however come with the bonus that each head seems to be looking right at an attacker.

Yes, and I think that is an important fact to make the story come to life..

I like the new scene arrangement. The distance makes it look more heroic.

Lets hope he is a hero, to attempt such an attack!

Thank you all for comments!
