Inktober/Drawlloween

So there's a thing called Inktober/Drawlloween that @Pingo reminded me about, where you draw/paint/sketch/art a thing every day during October. There's the "official" list of daily prompts...

 

 

and this other one that Pingo found that I think is cooler.

 

 

So who else is up for the challenge?

Well, cool! I don’t know if I’m up for a solid 31 days of pen-and-ink drawings. I tend to mix up my media a bit, But I am going to try to do a drawing a day for the month. Hopefully that will pass muster.

All of a sudden I'm curious as to a)where my Copics are, and b)if they're still any good...  Kind of sort of tempting to do, since I never really seem to sit down and seriously commit to drawing >.>;;;;

Pen and Ink, pencil, water color, whatever... I think the real goal is to art every day. Whatever the medium.

I may give it a go this year, I don’t really do 2d art but I want to. I think this would be a good motivator and a good way to start.

Are there expectations on quality of drawing or time spent? Is a 30sec stick figure sketch enough? I ask because I lack much actual drawing skill. I am tempted to try and do this with my daughter though. She loves to draw!

As I understand it (which is a tad wibbly - I only just took a close look at it yesterday), the idea is to get your art making flowing. Any level of experience, any level of skill, any amount of time is welcome, just get on out there and do a little daily art.

I know I've heard of Inktober more than once over the years, but never realized that there were so many themes. Guess it's really a thing now.

 

I have a cousin who is a professional illustrator/artist. I remember last year how he posted his Inktober drawings every day on Facebook (his theme was "number of heads = day number"). His creations were getting weirder and weirder, sometimes disturbing, sometimes. quite fanciful and children story-book worthy

I need to do more art in general and want to draw in specific, so I'm in too. I might use my reckless decks and story cubes for inspiration.

If doing something every single day is too intimidating, Drawtober shrunk their list this year:

 

 

Drawtober also encourages "drawing" in any medium you like.

 

This is likely the one that I'll be doing because I have too many other things I'm working on to devote daily time to 2D art that I don't do much of in the first place.

I won’t be buying one though. Because I have used that excuse so many times previously.

There was something about going for every other day, every third day, two a week, analogous to folk who only run the 5K when there is a big running event. 

 

I think I might snag items off those alternate lists if (ok when) I (...ahem...) draw a blank on some of the original topics.  Like #13  Ash. 

 

Question: are we posting all our pix to this thread? ( That sounds like fun to me... @Crowley ? was that the plan?)
