Inktober Day 18, Whynoctober prompt "Possessed."

It's nowhere near as dark as one might expect, given the prompt (in fact, it's rather sweet). It is, however, mildly NSFW, so here are links to it instead of an image.

Pingo, This last drawing of yours strongly reminds me of the style of certain book illustrations I remember. Here is an example:

But your dragon is much happier.  ::):

Day 18 :: Possessed

This was a tiny bit inspired by the Dire Pumpkin King, Jack-the-Lantern-Beholder, THING they previewed a sketch of on the Thursday Reaper Live podcast (or is podcast different from Twitch?). I tried to catch the name of the artist that did that drawing but it was lost in the reverb.

Anyway, when I saw it I thought, “...will that be on a flight stand?” And then I thought, “...well maybe it doesn’t fly.” And then, “...if it doesn’t fly, it needs some flying minions, it just does...”

Thus, a possessed flying(!) pumpkin had to become a thing.

*Thank You.

Did they fix the audio in post?

Or get it fixed for the Friday update?

Is the YouTube version of that last Reaper Live listenable?

For Day 20 I went with an idea from the Weidtober list:

Something In The Walls

ADC07152-3F76-44AE-ADA3-5E9EA60FA0A0.thumb.jpeg.7fdc510efa0abfcbc53e6b6118a5b55d.jpeg

A crumbling ruined old tower, but it is still a watchtower ...because some THING is always watching.

(Preview: For Day 21 — I wanna draw an Elephant...)

Using the endangered critters list...kinda sad I missed the Pangolin.

      AUGH! The Great Pumpkin Came!

This was my entry in a painting league at another  miniatures forum.

In reference to the longstanding Peanuts theme of Linus sitting alone in the Pumpkin Patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin to come bringing gifts, Santa Claus-style.

It's a pity for him that Halloween is all about the scary...and the Great Pumpkin probably is not a very nice being.

The miniatures are all by Reaper, the fences are from Mantic's Kings of War Vanguard terrain. I found the simplicity of the fences really helped to sell the story here. As one of the commenters in the LPL-post stated: "Less is more".

Lots more pics, but yah gotsa clicks!

Last year I painted Reaper's Halloween Knight with - I think - some success (you can check the mini on my Insta account, @albertnyarla); so I decided to start a tradition and pay hommage to my favourite festivity this year too.

Here I went with one of my favourite horror tropes, the Witch, with this fantastic Witch Coven by Reaper, under the "Tree of Despair" from Bones IV, with a couple hommages to good horror movies. Had to refrain myself to include even more references to avoid getting it too crowded.
Overall, I'm happy with the outcome. It will mean everything (if you like it) to give it a like and maybe a follow on Instagram, it really helps with motivation ^^
