jonfreeman
I missed out on the KS (kinda new to reaper scene). I'm wondering (for when these hit reprints) - is this detailed nudity on the statue? The male statue is detailed, but I can't tell from the photos online if the women are as well. 8\ (asking since I need to keep minis in my house sfw)
Ratmaster2000
well they have exposed breasts if that's what you mean?
jonfreeman
Just now, Ratmaster2000 said: well they have exposed breasts if that's what you mean? guessing you mean nipples? If that's the case, then yeah. the figures are clearly nude, but the level of detail on the female is harder to tell from preview images. Some statue minis will gloss over the inclusion of a nipple, others don't. - hence the question

YronimosW
She's completely unclothed aside from some bracers and a helmet, but the nudity is equivalent to a classical Greek/Roman statue - more a sort of "tasteful" (within the limitations of the "heroic" proportions) artistic nudity, than a pornographic nudity. Compare to the Venus de'Medici or a Rodin Venus, or the St. Gaudens or Houdon Diana... Your mileage may vary depending on how SFW you find that sort of thing. Some people might find the nudity itself problematic, some might have no problems with it but find the unrealistic heroic proportions offensive! In any event, you'll get only slightly less detail from a typical nude toy fashion doll (e.g. Barbie).... Beowulfthehunter
So she is Playboy nude as opposed to Hustler nude. 2
jonfreeman
imo - unless you're doing super historically accurate ... qualms of figure proportions feel out-of-place/hollow when you're excusing lighthearted swashbuckling murder hobos. But, that's just me. But yeah, young kids (neices, nephews, alongside my siblings/families) are over at my place during family events ... that's why I have to be a bit more judicious about sfw levels. Monster butts are usually ok, but beyond that caution's usually needed. Again - thanks for the input! Clarification's appreciated.
YronimosW
You're welcome. And, I guess what I'm getting at is that there's at least two kinds of people who get offended about the naughty bits of minis: those who object on a general "NSW" level, and those who object based on a perceived objectification of women through the heroic proportions (which are, to be fair, as exaggerated as anything else at a scale where more realistic proportions would be kind of hard to distinguish!) To put it in context, there was something of a tempest-in-a-teacup a couple Kickstarters ago, over the size of a Valkyerie's girly-parts....
