October 29: What/where is the furthest you have ever traveled from home?

If "home" were a constant thing for me (I've lived in both Europe and Hawaii), I'd have a better answer. Going by "what my home was then", probably Germany to northern Minnesota on my way to college.

Not sure how you would count this but,

Southern Idaho to Stuttgart, Germany. Spent a couple years there with a brief intermission to Iraq, then to Seattle.

@redambrosia Dances with Blue Space Cats == Avatar. I call it that because the plot is basically Dances with Wolves, but set in space with blue cat people.

The furthest I've ever traveled from home was Rome, Italy.  According to Google Earth it's 5260 Miles. I didn't know that.

RL my dad was a truck driver when I was little would take us with him. I do not remember much of any of it. Mom says I have been in most of the 50 states. Of what I remember. Matagorda Texas 740 miles. Went to see my wifes aunt, loved to the beach.

Immortal: I have been all over this world. Seen more than I care to remember. I never stay in one location for long.

I live in the Northeastern United States, and the farthest I have traveled is Queenstown, NZ. Google tells me that works out to about 15,300km / 9500mi.

Second place goes to Mumbai, India at roughly 12,200km / 7600mi.

I have no near-term plans to break these records, but the circumference of the Earth is around 40,000 km, so I still have room to improve. :poke:

I guess the longest voluntary trip was when I moved from Eastern Long Island to Horseshoe Bay in the Hill Country of Central Texas.

I'd rather not think about the involuntary trips.

Live in southern Saskatchewan and have travelled to Omsk, Russia. 8315 km or 5167 miles. Shortest route is straight over the north pole but we went closer to straight west to get there which probably adds a lot of miles. 5 days on the trans siberian express from Vladivostok to Omsk was an experience that pretty much killed my desire for train travel.
