Frequently Asked Questions

  • Both product lines are PVC plastic miniatures. Bones Black is a firmer version that is a little harder to make the molds but by far they capture more detail. The Classic miniatures will be medium gray and the Bones black will be noticeably darker (not black).

  • The Core Set, the Expansions Sets, and some of the options. Most of the largest pieces will be cast in classic Bones.

  • Most of our existing miniatures are produced in metal, and many of the miniatures here are drawn from those product lines. This Bones Kickstarter is designed to produce both existing and new miniatures in plastic. The models pictured in the Kickstarter are the models you will receive in Bones plastic.

  • That depends on whcih "Wave" you made your pledge in. Near the estimated delivery date we will ship all of Wave one before Wave 2 and all of Wave 2 before Wave 3. Nothing ships until everything is ready to go.

    Last updated:
  • We will make an update for this project on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month until we have completed fulfillment. We will make this update, even if there is nothing has changed and there is nothing new to report.

    Last updated:
  • There is NOT a level in this KS for retail store participation.
When we begin fulfillment of this new KS we will create a retail store rack package based and discounted on the KS results.

If you choose to actually pledge and back this new KS it will be as a consumer. Your items will ship bulk just, same as the consumers.

In other words these ARE NOT packaged for resale.

    Last updated:
  • Green items are part of the Core Set Pledge and the Core Set grows as the Core Set stretch goal are met.

Red items are buy-in, add-ons that you must add more to your pledge to get. More buy-in options are revealed as their stretch goals are met.

The other color expansions items are add-ons that grow like the Core Set, but have their own stretch goals independent of the Core Set and not included in the Core Set. Nor, will the Core Set have the Expansions' miniatures added to it.

    Last updated:
  • Unless otherwise noted, our miniatures are in a 28mm scale. Where possible we will include a graphic of a knight titled "Knight for Scale Not Included." This human sized knight shows approximate size perspective.

  • Yes, but DO NOT change levels or you will lose your place in the shipping wave, just pledge more dollars.

We recommend pledging in the Kickstarter as much as you can because the more you put in the more it helps unlock goals for everyone, but do what you can when you can. You will be able to add to your pledge after the fact for several months as well using our Pledge Manager website.

Will all of these models eventually be available for purchase on Reaper's website individually after the kickstarter is completed? I find that I am loving significantly more models in this kickstarter than I had planned on spending and more than I am capable of painting.

I was planning to do the core set and if unlocked, both paint sets, but now find myself loving the dragons, the troll bridge encounter, the Daimyo expansion, and I cant wait to see what I think might be an underwater expansion and Greek mythology expansion. There is no way I can get everything I want now, but would be super happy to buy these later even if the price is higher.

Apologies if this is an obvious question but I haven't found a clear answer on it so I thought I should ask. I've backed the kickstarter at $120 and am in Wave 2. I'd like to increase my pledge now (I want the increase to be included in the kickstarter stretch goal calculations) but don't want to give up my place in line. Can someone please confirm that the following will work?

-Go to the kickstarter page and click "manage your pledge"

-On the next page click "change your pledge"

-Under "current reward" change "pledge amount" from $120 to whatever, then click "continue"

I'm not sure what happens next as I don't want to click that and have it say that this reward level is sold out or something.

Thank you!

Probably, Eventually.

In general, the intention is to release everything.  Not everything may end up released.  In Bones 1 & 2 there were a couple of models that had issues that needed resolving and this prevented them from being released.  In Bones 3, packaging was the hurdle and some items, specifically weapon sprues, did not end up releasing.  It is too soon to say if there will be a Bones 4 non-released item since they are still working through those pieces.

After the Kickstarter fulfills, roughly looking like April 2021, Reaper will begin the process of slowly releasing these models in small batches to retail, including the company's Website.  For Bones 3, it took about 14 months to release everything that was released.  Bones 4 is still being released as it completed fulfillment this spring.  It is a long time to wait for retail.

On the troll bridge encounter image it states "244 not shown". Can we at least get a verbal description of the item, please?

244: A Troll *Nest.

There was a long story about it in the Twitch stream.

(*A heap/ring of bones-rubble-refuse-flotsam-shoes-logs that this sort of troll builds...  ..because these trolls lay eggs. )

Will it be possible (in the PM) to select "extra" elements of the Core Set, not necessarily as singles, but in "chunks" smaller than the entire Core Set (such as in the groupings that were incrementally added to the Core Set)? This has been possible in previous campaigns, but I could not find any info about it in this campaign. Maybe such options were revealed later in the campaigns (i.e., not at the start)?

Unknown, yet probably.

Traditionally, these groupings are revealed much later in the campaign.  As the Core Set is still growing and the Reaper Bones 5 Pledge Manager has not yet been released, a solid answer would be premature at this time.

Please note that smaller groupings have traditionally not been made available for the Expansions, only the Core Set.

I just realized something . . .

The core set numbering starts with 101 and currently ends with 214. The Add-Ons start with 201-262. I would have expected the pieces to have unique numbers for  clearer identification later. Is this how it was done in the previous kickstarters? Honestly I never noticed it before but I've gotten into doing up my own tracking excel, so I spotted it . . .

Traditionally, numbering conventions have been 100-199 for Core Set, 200-299 for first expansion, 300-399 for second expansion and so on.

It appears that there are more than 199 items in the current B5 Core and as such there would be a change to the numbering this go round.
