The Story Engine, deck of endless prompts + book

The search function on mobile wasn't letting  me find it if a thread for this exists already, so please do send me the right direction if such already exists. Ran across this in a Facebook ad--getting a lot of KS-related ads right now all of a sudden, can't possibly imagine why lol--and this one really grabbed me. Looks like it could be a lot of fun for folks who enjoy the basic gimmick of it and are into creating adventure scenarios or writing or whatnot. I need to go back and look for the ages on it--if it's not all dirty-like seems like it could be a good writing resource for kiddos, too.

I backed his half a cat imaginary book. I enjoyed it.

Also good for him - had all his money ripped off at a con recently

Geh, that sucks.

I'm unfamiliar with him actually, so good to hear he's delivered enjoyable goods before.

I'm watching the video right now, and I'm REALLY wanting to back this.

I backed.

I mean the cash he had on hand, but that still sucks massively. We both worked for the same publisher at different points. We've met, though don't really know each other. He's done a ton of stuff.

I backed his Postcards from Impossible Worlds project.

My wife and I have both backed.  My wife is excited about this one.  I was going to back to have my own copy of the decks but she talked me out of it, for now.  (Besides, that's money that could be spent on Bones 5.)  I'm still in for the digital rewards.

All three expansions are unlocked!

Looks like he's cooking up some new stretch goals to finish the last couple days here out...

I'm debating jumping on up to the deck + 3 expacs option, as I don't-love-but-do-like the idea of the sci-fi and horror sets, but it's only another $5 to do it later via pledge manager, looks like*, so think I'll hold off and see how I'm feeling about them next month.

*And that's assuming I can't just change the whole reward later, I guess, dunno how the manager will work.

Okay, wow, this thing is still humming right along. And the 48-hour reminder doesn't go out until tonight, I guess? Is that still how that goes? I hadn't realized there was so much time left. Either way, it's shot right on up through several more stretch goals, including a couple of 18-card add-ons, one Lovecraftian and the other steampunk. There's a cyberpunk one ahead in 15k (CAD), I think it was, and two or three more after that over the next 50-75k. I'd say most of them are looking in play if it keeps moving like this. Main Deck can still grow another 5 cards too.

The add-ons are not a great value really at $5 for 18 cards, but I like the idea/feel of them. They should fit very nicely with the other sets, I imagine.

Thinking I'll bump on up to that deck + 3 option and ponder the add-ons from there.

Closing in on the 24-hour mark here, and it's all gravy. Everything's unlocked as far as add-ons and expacs go. The deck is up to 180 cards I believe it is, 3 expansions, and 8 add-on sets iirc. Not bad. I caved and upped for all those.

The digital value is what's truly unreal here. Digital copies of all that for a minimum of $14, I think it is. Spectacular.

Funded just shy of $300k. Great run there. Pledge manager will be open in the next week or so if you missed out.

See everybody in June or whenever.

It was at the last minute, but I pledged for it.

Though the core concept is now wholly original (there are random generators galore online), I like this particular execution.

Hi :) I'm pleased to present my new 5e adventure series : Explore a sentient twin-planet where high magic is forbidden, war rages and the world is being dragged into a Lovecraftian abyss.
Geas: Broken Gods offers five One-Shot adventures for levels 1-5 - or a huge campaing that chains them together in any order - that introduce players to a new world of my own creation that takes place on a living planet with unique physics, materials, weapons, equipment, monsters and more.  Geas, is a Sentient co-joined planet: one half (The Found) knows next to nothing of the other (The Lost), eternally separated by the Bathyal Sea and Tsunami-sized waves that divide them. In fact - the History of Geas is one of its greatest mysteries. Records in the 'Great Planasthai' - a gargantuan and elaborate book of lore of tremendous import with its entries only readable when certain stars and planets align in special conjunctions - reveals that a visitation in the deep past from a particularly cryptic set of entities saw the reigning Gods of Geas simply walk away, abandoning their positions of power without a fight and choosing to instead walk amongst the mortals as Broken Gods.

All modules are lovingly mapped, tokened and written providing everything you need + if you use Fantasy Grounds VTT you're in for a beautifully laid out and automated adventure using their excellent software and with maps and features specially designed to compliment and capitalize on their VTT.

      Thank you,
      Kind Regards

Hello all - Chroniclers of Barbaric Splendor is now live. It features licensed miniatures from creators of swords and sorcery such as David C. Smith (Oron, Red Sonja, Bran Mak Morn) and Howie Bentley (The Snake-Man's Bane).

It is perfectly reasonable that this will come up, so I wanted to post this here as well:

It is no secret my first campaign was delayed, although fulfilled. Part of that was poor planning and expectations, and part was health issues that exacerbated each other and financial issues that arose from that. All such issues are in the past, and I am proud that I overcame them to fulfill what I feel was an amazing Kickstarter with amazing miniatures. Since then I have been operating Barbaric Splendor Miniatures and have been delivering excellent service and product. I have learned also from others in the industry and feel confident I am offering a well-thought out campaign that will be a success for all of us! 5 of the miniatures have already been sculpted, and sculptors lined up for the rest, including add-ons and stretch goals. Dark Platypus studio will be doing the casting - from previous experience I can attest to both the quality and timeliness of their work. Thus, the only risks would be possible delays in sculptor schedules for stretch goals and the fact that I will be doing all the packing and shipping myself when not working my regular job could lead to slower times getting things out if the campaign is wildly successful. I understand that some will be displeased with the delays of the first campaign, but I feel I have proven myself over the past year with Barbaric Splendor Miniatures, and I look forward to bringing more great Swords and Sorcery miniatures to you!
