Ironically, this was done to facilitate lubricating the thing Never use any metal tools on the plastic. Even if you don't poke a whole in the plastic it will get scratched up. Also, easy way to remove failed prints is, after draining the resin, gently press on the under side of the plastic it is stuck to. It should pop right off with minimal issue. Although small pieces can be kind of a pain to get out of the vat.

Corsair
Well, of course the new Ender6 was marked as delivered the day after we left for the week. Thankfully my neighbor was watching for it, so it will be fine. Just won't be playing with it until after we move in Dec/Jan. And I sold the old one after it was posted for 20 minutes. Ironically, this was done to facilitate lubricating the thing Always use the plastic scraper on the FEP. And even then be careful, watch the angle when you apply it and don't use too much force. Should a failed print get really really stuck, apply a little IPA/Methylated Aclohol or Mean Green/Mr. Clean. Just a bit, wait a few seconds, then scrape and then after emptying the VAT clean with a paper towel. A FEP can take a little dent or nudge, I was scared that I damaged one when I noticed the first bumps, but those it can handle, a puncture or one that is almost through will cause trouble. Good luck. I watched the youtube video step by step to change it and it worked great, just take your time for it. 5 hours ago, TheAuldGrump said: I, uhm... may have just emailed Megan that picture. I was thinking...I got the CastNPlay Mythical Clash and that had all kinds of walls and floors ( openlock). My painted stuff goes into a display cabinet. Now.. Could I create a floor and a second story from those strong enough to put painted minis on the second floor as well? It would basically turn the shelf into a castle/dungeon thing where I can store twice as much painted minis?

You may end up having to glue some modules together, though. 1

I was thinking of creating a nice way to be able to display more minis on the same shelf and staying in theme. Of course it means a lot more printing and painting but I would like to try it with at least one shelf. With the rate I'm hoarding files I might need to buy a Cathedral or something to store them all when printed/painted...
Rahz
So apparently my Saturn has left China, based on the spreadsheet they posted. Still hasn't started it's last leg to me but at least it's moving... I'm getting impatient though... have a few larger pieces that I would rather print in at least sub-assemblies than in little pieces...
Illithar
So Print Your Monsters 'Fantastic Rocks and Plants' is fulfilling. I got my email and they are ready to download. I'll have to take care of that tonight after getting home. I'm curious to try Greg's (3DPrintingPro) 'flat' style with some of them. I've been liking it for printing bases instead of the traditional support style. They can be difficult to get off of the plate at times, but they print much faster and more reliably. A little anecdotal at this point, but I have noticed that the one I have done using the 'Skate' method in Chitubox come off the plat a bit easier. Also, Lord of the Prints offerings for this month have my attention. It's a lot of angels, but very cool looking ones, especially that clockwork/robot one.

Lidless Eye
Booted up the Elegoo Mars in preparation for this month's Titan Forge Patreon of the "Ogres & Amazons" Narrowed down my print failures to the FEP, wow, that takes a lot longer to replace than I expected!
lowlylowlycook
My first prints: The top row of girders is from Imperial Terrain. Below and to the left is my only failed print. Can't really complain since the print bed was sitting on top of the clamps that are supposed to hold it in place. It shifted at some early point but yet kept going. Eventually it broke lose (I haven't worked out the skirt options in the Creality Slicer and the bed wasn't being heated properly so I'm not sure how it ever stuck down in the first place) and I started to get some airborn spaghetti. The triangular struts are from a free project designed to be a gate for Gaslands. The little electrical post was also free but I'm not sure it's really suitable for printing and was very fragile. At the bottom is the articulated T-Rex that came with the printer and was the very first print.
