Replaced the FEP. If there's something I"d like to NEVER EVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH AGAIN, it's replacing the FEP.

I never want to see a tiny screw ever again.

Again, this is why I bought a Wowstick.

It doesn't reduce the number of screws, but the work goes so much faster.

So fast in fact that I bought two. One for home(mostly my printers), and one for use at the office.

Did you know that there's EXACTLY one dozen screws to remove on a HP EliteBook G3 series in order to remove the bottom cover so that you can get to the battery?

BTW: There's two versions of it, one that uses a pair of AAAs, and one that has a rechargeable cell.

The one with the rechargeable cell is slightly stronger.

I actually didn't mind changing my FEP. I was just glad to do it & actually do correctly.

Need to do something with my printers today. whether it's change FEP, print something on the Photon S or mess with the Enders.

Since it's a consumable I'm afraid it will be something you need to do every now and then.

I suspect that the next generation will be making that easier.

This generation introduced the monochrome masking screens - which is enough to bring me on board.

No matter how much I tell myself that the previous generation is good enough, and cheap now that they are being sold off, I just cannot get myself past the change in resolution - it is easily noticeable to the naked eye. So, yeah, at some point I see a Saturn in our future.

The Colour to Monochrome LCD should also be possible as a retrofit, but probably also need a new Firmware. Still doable.

The iBox Nano didn't use screws at all for the FEP.

Of course, the FEP film in that was about 2 x 5cm, at the bottom of a shallow, round glass container.

(I'm assuming it was some sort of standard lab kit)

Printed the Gryphina pinup today.

Both the 'regular' and the 'Skimpy' version. Not that I can tell which is which...

(Both, plus a set of wings for each, all fit with room to spare on the build plate)

prints are still sticking to the FEP, even with PTFE applied. But they're thinner now. I don't get it.

And now I can't even try again because all the IPA in town is sold out. <_<

1. Wipe off the print plate very thoroughly.

2. Level it.

3. Increase exposure time on the first layers.

Oh, and Denatured Alcohol can also be used instead of IPA.

Note; I filter and reuse my IPA extensively. Just run it through a coffee filter to get the garbage out.

If you think there's still resin in it, pour it into a mason jar, tighten the lid properly, and leave it in sunshine for a while. THEN filter it again...

(You will NOT be using that jar for anything edlible ever again, so feel free to mark it somehow... )

Do you use the recommend settings for your resin?

Aside from what has been mentioned, you could be overexposing?

Or..you're using too light supports causing the print to break off and fail?

Another print off the bed and under the cure light.  Mindflayer with  a trio of intellect devourers.  Scaled them up to 200% as this for a fun little idea, not for PC mutilating.  One of the front legs on the intellect devourer in his hands failed.  Not sure if I'm going to print it again or cut off a leg from one of the other 2 to perform some quick surgery and then just have 1 at his feet...  Going to see how it looks once cured (it kind of looks like the foot is there, but the leg is shorter than it should be).

These are from the Comet Lord Minis in case anyone was curious.

I believe I found the cause of my issues. You know how the FEP films come with a protective plastic covering that you need to remove before installation? Because I did not.

And for the record, the protective plastic does not play well with prints.
