PaganMegan 23452
Dove in today. Good: WAY faster than the CR-6 filament printer. WAY better detail than the CR-6. Jewelry quality, my test print was a ring. Bad: NOISY! Not vaccuum cleaner loud, but blow dryer loud. Light leaks! UV rich light spilling out the bottom and sides. Between the noise and the light, no way we can keep this in our bedroom like the CR-6. But the Good is WAY more important than the bad. I love my precioussss! (Clutches newly printed ring.)

With the way the fumes are ventilated, I don't think you'd want to do that anyways. Welcome to the resin club!!

Auberon 15683
Yeah, I need two walls between my bed and the printer or it keeps me up at night.
haldir 45850
Well finally re-assembled my VAT & I'm printing again. Will it be a success? We shall see in 6 to 7 hrs (in other words, it'll finish while I'm at work tonight, so I guess it's more like 15 hrs & I'll see it when I get home). I decided to start the female fomorian witch "mini" from Rocket Pig. I've decided to start her waist down piece. Fingers crossed!!

I did chop/cut off a foot as I was cutting a close support, but the break was clean & it'll easily glue back on. I think it happened due to her being hollow & just not enough material in the area. Oddly with her being hollow there are supports inside her, I can't cut off. I started her torso & if it comes out, I'll work on that in the morning.

Gadgetman! 20096
The guys behind the FormWare Slicer is now working on 'true 3D antialiasing'. Antialiasing is over and underexposing some points to smooth the edge. This is usually done slice by slice. (the rounding only happens horisontally) What they're doing now is also smoothing vertically. They hope to have the first test slice in a few weeks. Who knows, it might even make it possible to get a decent print out of a Photon Zero...
haldir 45850
Thanks to a semi-short session last Saturday, my players didn't meet up with the female dwarf ghost & with my LCD holding up, I printed off the newer version of her: (gotta love the phone camera focused on my fingers vs the figure.....) This one took close to 5 hrs to print. Normal medium sized figures take around 3.1/2 hours. I guess it may have been the extensive supports on the figure. I think my next "Hold your dwarf" file, I'm gonna do my own supports & see how it compares to the professional work. Printing now is one of the fomorian witch heads. So if this comes out, that means only 3 files to go!! Currently the torso & lower half together on a gargantuan base looks great. She'll be my biggest resin mini to date.
NecroMancer 7748
Ok I need some help. I had a failure and am not quite sure why. Lost the top of his head and his sythe and he also has a print line through his face. Is this just lack of supports? Everything else seemed to print pretty well.
