So, I want to mount a FDM print I did to a wood base because for some odd reason the floor of the model came out REALLY thin, I mean thinner then I have ever seen. So, I want5 to mount it onto a wood base to give it some stability, what do you all recommend to use? I am pretty sure super glue would not cut it, but what would be best? filament to wood - I would think any superglue or epoxy would work. I mean filament is just a plastic. If using a superglue, I'd definitely use a accelerator. Also while not a superglue per se, take a look at that JB Weld UV light glue I used for gluing Sunlu resin prints together. Sunlu resin was resisting BSI brand glue with their brand of accelerator as well. The JBW with uv light made that job easier then it should have.

If the surface of the print is very smooth, then it would be a good idea to abrade it a bit first, as epoxy does not create any molecular bond, it just fills the space rigidly and creates a vacuum bond which can sometimes separate if the surfaces can flex at all.

J-B Weld 33301 SuperWeld Light-Activated Instant Glue I was reading the description of it and noticed it contains CA. If light can't reach the repair, it will cure without light, but takes 24 hours for a full cure. With light, it takes just seconds to cure.

For mounting terrain to a base, we used a hot glue gun. The Auld Grump

Yah it doesn't handle like a superglue thou, but as soon as that UV light hits, it's an almost instant bond. Only reason I tried it as my other tried & true CAs didn't work with Sunlu resin. I think even thou it'll cure on it's own, I don't think I'd use if I can't see the 2 halves. I did glue up the figures to their resin printed bases, & it worked there, but I think that is due to small blockage.
Pezler the Polychromatic
Re-ordered the NFEP, just arrived right now. Will have to install it when I get a chance, though my entire week will be busy. Got 2 pieces that are A4 sized, so I should be able to cut them in half to fit my resin vat.

haldir
So as noted, I may be getting some clear resin to make "tanks" for some scenery. Depending on whether I can find some clear tubing like you'd find as light bulb covers in older shop lights or might even go the vinyl tubing, I just don't want to pay over 25 bucks for it (roughly 10 inches or 2 feet with a little extra for mistakes when cutting). I see Sunlu has their clear 1000g bottle for like 23 bucks, but Elegoo has theirs under 20. Who do I go with? I know I won't print allot of thing in clear, so this might be a one & done for while resin. Thou now that I think about it, I should take the time to print out various "in flight" bases & such.
TheAuldGrump
Arcane Minis has an odd crowdfunder running on MMF right now. I am not providing any links, because of the commerce rule. A few years ago they had a Kickstarter for a physical product, collecting postage at that time. The project was delayed by Covid-19, during which time postage tripled. So, they are running a short campaign with 80% off some pretty big bundles. They also reached out to a bunch of their fellow creators - who added some free minis and free one month subscriptions to their Tribes to all the bundles. There are some nice models in those bundles, in aprticular the airships. Megan has christened this ship The Blofeld.... The added contributors are: The Printing Goes Ever On Mini Monster Mayhem Mammoth Factory DM-Stash Fantastic Plants & Rocks PrintYourMonsters Fantastic Portals & Effects WorldForgeMinis PrintMinis Crippled God Foundry Moonlight Minis The Auld Grump
