kristof65
Anyone have any good sources of sci-fi accessories stls for 28mm? Weapons I have plenty of, I'm looking for things like backpacks and data pads. Currently converting some Duncan Shadow Thri-Kreen into aliens for my Traveller campaign using accessories from my Stargrave Crew Sprues, but I'm going to burn through those pretty quickly.

kristof65
Thanks @Glitterwolf. What search terms did you use? Because I never saw the first three with the various search terms I was using.

I knew about Admiral Apocalypse so I just went there and chose FREE OBJECTS Then I searched for SCIFI BACKPACKS Then for Modern Backpack But I included the Company names so you must be able to find them now on MMF.
lowlylowlycook
I'm always amazed how things get printed even though I keep forgetting to tighten down the build plate on my resin printer. I feel that an FDM printer's reaction to the equivalent level of carelessness would be to launch the build plate across the room. Perhaps after lighting it on fire.

Wait till you get to the forget to attach the build plate & only notice after lifting the hood to look at the print afterwards..... Print took 9 1/2 hours & is just the 1st of 4 plates of prints. 😁 2nd plate printed off perfectly & even better, it fits with plate one's part seamlessly too! Always dread that when you have 2 parts that fit together. I guess I'm still used to my Photon S printer when it comes to that. So much putty work. Big item plates are done, now just printing the smaller items.

lowlylowlycook
I think what I want in a FDM printer is something like a Bambu P1P but a MAX version for bigger prints. What do people think about some of this new technology to detect failed prints or even to check on the first layer? I don't think I'd use a printer enough to justify getting the fancier Bambu X1.

KruleBear
Well do I ever feel stupid. About 6 months ago my Creality fdm printer started having bed adhesion problems. Cleaned the heck out of it with IPA. Still not sticking. I had a Creality glass plate. Better, but still spotty adhesion. Changed filament. Changed about every typical parameter. Still no luck. It had been sitting for a couple months, but wanted to print terrain to play Zoontalis. Still not sticking. Added glue and had partial success. Downloaded Fat Dragon Games terrain printing profile. Not much change. Cranked bed temp really high. No help. …..ran across a YouTube videothat said not to use water to clean the bed. Took the glass to the sink and cleaned with Dawn Dish soap. DANG. Next print stuck so well I struggled getting it off the cooled glass plate. I am now back in the terrain business!
haldir
So one of my 3d printing emails the other day had links to discounted hardware & supplies. One such link was to Phrozen's site in regards to the Mighty 8k printer/2 bottles of 8k aqua-grey resin bundle. The printer itself is free shipping to the US, but you have to pay for the resin. I did a test checkout & the 2 bottles of resin will cost around $45 to ship...ouch! At least the printer was discounted down to $645, thou it doesn't compare to both, a Mighty 4k at $474.99 or the Mighty 8k at $539.99 off BIG RIVER site. I mean the price is awesome, but the shipping time is 2 days vs weeks.
TheAuldGrump
I had pretty much talked myself out of OPR's Duchies of Vinci... Then we watched Arcane... Now the idea of the Duchies as the bad guys in a narrative campaign is taking root. I like them better as the baddies... The Auld Grump Given the behaviour of Conquistadores and Colonial Armies that's a reasonable thought. I see no problem with that, greedy conquerors, expansionists using their technological advantage over their less sophisticated neighbours, Go for it!
