There was a creator on Cults3D called Kodopitharos who created the truescale termies, but unfortunately they were taken down. Twice. Someone also made an Ultramarines version using his assets, but it looks like they got nixed as well. However, I know that there's another creator that's making truescale termies, will try to let you know when he's done.

Seems like the next update to FDM printers is to improve the speed at which they print at. Creality are releasing a new range of FDM printers (K1 and K1 Max) which they’ve marketed as having a print speed of 600mm/sec.

Now that’s the marketed speed, so the regular print speed will likely be lower than that, but it’s still 4 times faster than the 150mm/sec they list for their Ender 3. Elegoo’s Neptune 3 supposedly prints around 120mm.

So even if it only prints at 300-400mm/sec, it would still cut FDM print times in half or better. Given that big FDM prints can take days, that’s a massive difference.

Acceleration affects things more than raw speed, doubly so because the faster your movement (assuming acceleration is there to get you up to said speeds before it has to change direction again) the more volumetric flow of your full extruder setup matters, and that's even before one factors in things like cooling and momentum in general. I do agree though, it is a good thing to see more printers with higher capabilities, but see Stefan's video on what kinds of print surface artifacts one can run into, as well as the loss of part strength as you go faster. (CNC Kitchen).

But yeah, volumetric flow of a hotend (and it's extruder) really do matter with higher speed printing, because if it can't fully melt it or even can't feed it reliably, there's no point in going that fast.  Or if it yeets itself off the table...

Many of these less expensive models also don't have input shaper, which reduces vibration related artifacts which get really noticeable the faster you go.

I mean, I’ll be waiting for reviews before I buy anything. I’m also sure there will be lots of bugs and issues to overcome with the faster speeds, but I’m excited to see the developments.

In terms of printers, I see a new Sonic Mini 8K from Phrozen and ELEGOO MARS 4 DLP 3D Printer and that one is a little more interesting IMO because Our team has been working to offer more convenience in 3d printing for users. With the slicing convenience in mind for the community, we've joined forces with VoxelDance to launch the brand new GOO slicing format for the Mars 4 DLP printer, which is completely open-source. GOO format can be compatible with a wide variety of slicing software, including Chitubox, Lychee, Tango, and more, and offers you a lot of flexibility and convenience when printing and slicing..

Those Bambu printers I mentioned earlier are also supposed to be fast.

Looks like another new Phrozen.  These guys aren't sitting still for sure.  Another 8K.  Sonic Mini 8K S

Getting super frustrated.  My SV03 has started doing a major shift 4-6 hours into prints this week and I can't figure out why.  A lot of testing and wasting of filament going on.

Saw some stuff on the K1 Max the other day.  Zorpazorp has one already (perks of being a youtuber I guess) and it looks really nice.

Wish it was bigger.  I was about to order a Neptune 3 Max when they went out of stock.....

What do you all do with your old empty resin bottles?

Mostly chuck em, but I do use one for old denatured alcohol/resin clean up mix.

I bin mine too, but I cut them open to cure the last bits in the sun first.

Think I found my issue......it was lying on the bed next to a shifted print this morning...

That's supposed to be directing the air down to the hot end, but most have been occasionally snagging and snapped off.  I probably knocked it loose when I replaced the nozzle the last time and didn't notice.  And no it is broken, so have to try to figure out how to replace it.....

They're also noisy when run at factory settings..  But yeah, they are speedy machines.  Kinda neat looking too.

Time to get into the wonderful world of custom printed cooling ducts:
