Not a complete success, but mostly successful. The fact that the failures are all in one spot suggest it could be that my build plate isn’t 100% level.

However, I did leave resin sitting in the vat for the past few months. I cleaned the vat out before running the printer, but it’s possible there was residue left on the FEP that caused a problem with adhesion.

A second print should help me figure out what the problem might be.

Stuck with what I intended to order (stls for a couple of upcoming Weds night adventures, including the Halloween one-shot I will run next month sometime) for the MMF Summer sale. Not to bad of a hit to the wallet. There have been sales I've went crazy on, but not this one. I guess buying the Con Box & other minis at RCon is enough for me so far this month.

I knew I wanted to get Comet Lord's headless horseman & combo as that one is perfect for the Halloween adventure. There were others that were perfect as well, like a green hag by Claymore. There was a stl from Rocketpig that was perfect for a critter, but it was unavailable. The file had been out for 2 months & such, so I have no idea why. I was able to pick up something that was similar but not exactly what I wanted.

Overall, at least I was able to pick everything up for devil's carnival adventure. Some unique encounters in that one.  Time to fire the printer back up!

Finished what I wanted of these two sets. For now. Took me quite a while. Some delicate and detailed stuff. Not sure how they’ll stand on the table and some of the feet are tiny. Printed most of them at 90% to get them in the 28-30mm area. Everything came out less one candle stick. Will be part of a big asylum project.

I recognize allot of that scenery pieces. I printed up a few for one of my ReaperCon games this year. I also printed up the armoire for an adventure I ran a few years ago as well (including the one with the arms extended - need to show off a poltergeist).

The Elegoo Wash station really annoys me. Just fixed it for the second time in a bit over a year.

The problem is the spinning platform is held in place by a single screw. Over time that screw vibrates loose and eventually stops spinning, resulting in a big grinding noise that makes you think something has gone horribly wrong.

Now the fix is simple, unscrew the bottom of the unit and re-tighten the screw. However, it’s not an obvious solution (I only found the solution by googling), it’s not obvious there’s even something there to tighten and Elegoo don’t supply an Allen key that fits the screw. I had to buy a set of small Allen keys from a hardware store to fix it.

The fact that this happens every 6 months shows that it’s a design flaw. On top of that my spinning platform has developed a slight lean, so I needed to jury rig a way to offset that, which took 3 attempts involving lots of screwing and unscrewing each time.

It annoys me how cheaply made the thing is for something I consider to be an essential piece of kit. When you open the thing up you can see that it’s just moulded plastic and a couple of dollars of electronics. So it’s no surprise that bits on it break easily.
