77174 Leisynn Mercenary Mage: Lich conversion

I finished my Leisynn conversion. Took ages, especially with a new baby boy in the house.

 

That said, I am fairly pleased how he turned out. I changed the entire front and head area of the miniature and gave him a more sensible staff.

 

I think contrast could be increased overall and the subtle freehand on his robes was difficult. I will need to practice more with future minis. 

 

The illumination in the book turned out ok, but I came to the limits of my current abilities. It is based on a medieval illumination. Anyone can guess what it is? One hint: the horned one is involved.

Thank you! I am pleased with the freehand, but a simpler illumination might have been a good idea.

Thank you, I am pleased with the face. I based it on a Wargames Factory head and added the skin back on so to say. Definitely got that dry, leathery skin look.

The conversion work is OUTSTANDING, AND the brushwork & color selection are GLORIOUS. There is an Army of Darkness feel to your creation that I love. VERY WELL DONE!

I have a few WIP pics of the head. Basically it is a Wargames Factory, now Warlord, Skeleton head that I added leathery flesh, eyeballs and hair to. The staff was cut off and replaced with a bit of wire, then I sculpted the wood with greenstuff and added a crystal bitz that I had lying around. The chest was cleaned and then resculpted, once more using a skeleton chest as a basis for the visible mummified chest.
