Rubegon’s Booby-themed Reaper Bones 3 Deep Ones Speed Paint!

Recommended Posts

The extra time is well spent. The new Fishy Fellows look good, but the ones you took your time with look TERRIFICNICE WORK on the former, VERY WELL DONE on the latter!

Great choice of colors.  The pink is nice and fleshy, and the drow nipple purple makes it just weird enough.

Thanks @Inarah!  The colors were close enough to Kuo Toaish ones, and I’ve been looking for a reason to use them.  The contrast is a bit flat, but I’m pretty with how they turned out.  The GW shades worked really well with these I think.

It was a bit hard to make myself stop and varnish them, but I’m pretty happy with the result for the time investment.  I’m thinking of playing with GW contrast paints to increase my speed paint throughput for gaming minis.  It really is great having painted enemies, but it wasn’t going to happen the way I’ve been doing that.

Having said that, I *am* very pleased with my purple 1st stringers @malefactus and Commander @Glitterwolf!  ::D:

Here they all are used in our session today in anger!

Fantastic speed paint - inspirational to my current painting goals - you got them to the table looking great - the purple shades are my favorite.

The purple ones were not quite so speedy!  I still mostly just did basecoats and washes, but spent a lot more time on the details.  I was very happy with how they turned out!

The pink ones were my first real “knock ‘em out in a single session, come hell or high water” speed paints.

I’m motivated to do more like this now because I think I could get even faster and better after this!

Give it a shot - painting fast is a very different skill than trying to paint perfection, and it’s a nice refreshing change of pace.

I’ve got a 28mm “try to paint it perfect” WIP,  my first huge monster resin sculpt WIP, and a few TTRPG minis going at the same time, and it’s nice to flip from one to the other depending on what I’m in the mood for and what skills I want to work on.
