According to the notes on the release, it looks like that is the case; the Sophie Extravaganza is not just a Black Friday event--almost all Sophies should be available year round. I believe there are exceptions--the Urban Legend Sophie for instance will not be part of this, but there could be others as well. I'm stoked to have access to these limited Sophies myself--I started painting 4 years ago, so it's been a hunt to find previous RCon Sophies in particular. This release is well played.

As a person who made the effort to go to RCon each time these Sophie's were released, a part of me says Bleeh! to this sale. Thou, anther part does say great opportunity for people that missed her the first (or 2nd, or 3rd etc) time.

If she is put into regular production, hopefully this means she'll be in the Boneyard for RCon. As some of her bits are nice to have extras of (like the easel for ex.).

Limited edition @ Reaper means well make it now & put it away, then later on bring back out again.  ::D:

Yes, year-round release.  Should be all Sophies except the Urban Legend 2010, and no Bones I motorbike Sophies (the bike is too hard to produce), and none of the bigger ones that got discontinued (any 54mm or 72mm).

Trust me, you don’t want that dang frazzed up hunk of useless metal anyway! Flipping piece of junk that won’t go together right! :stomps on it several times:

Save yourself the frustration and buy infinity minis. I hear they’re easier to put together <_<

Most of them had re-releases already anyway.  The Kickstarter box set, and 12 days.  They had apparently been talking about this internally anyway, but at RCon this year I was going to make a case for bringing them back (aiming low, I was just going to say during RCon) based on them already having re-releases, and since Reaper's customer base has grown much bigger in recent years who might want to collect Sophies it's just giving money away to the secondary market to not sell em to people who want em.

The reason why I said 2nd, 3rd, etc. Limited edition from Reaper really doesn't mean anything anymore.

*snerks* depends on what you're trying to put together.  Some of the old models are an absolute nightmare I've heard, and worse than those Azra'il's I assembled where I had to pin the head in place on both...

We won't comment about the EIGHTEEN PIECES the Maghariba Guard comes in either, but then again, it weighs like three quarters of a pound by itself despite being a hollow design for the main body, and is the largest mini in the game (until they come out with something even bigger, but I digress).  Does look like it will go together fairly easily though, at least once I clean up all the vent and pour area thingies on it...

But wow, biker Sophie is that bad that you'd compare it to Infinity miniatures, huh?

It might have been a fever-dream, but I think I remember seeing a discontinued pulp Sophie in pilot helmet and bomber jacket riding a retrofuturistic missile. If that comes back (assuming it existed?) I'll be very pleased indeed!

That sounds like the artwork from a save the date postcard for reapercon 2015. The save the date post card was really pulp sci fi. I was disappointed they went with more modern sci fi for the Sophie.

Edit: nope, I’m dumb. You mean the 2008 Sophie.

They mentioned that Sophie (Bomber Sophie) - but unfortunately the archive copy of her is broken (apparently the tip of the bomb got snapped off somehow). But I'm pretty sure she's one of the ones they're bringing back.
