44031: Giant Leeches

Recommended Posts

It is a shame about the water effect...I never had much luck with it either. The Worms, however, are DELIGHTFULLY disturbing, AND BEAUTIFULLY painted & based. VERY WELL DONE!

Wow, these are GREAT! I always appreciate seeing minis I’ve sculpted painted up with such skill. I’m also pleased that they worked as an icebreaker - very much in line with my intent. Your paint scheme is simple, but very effective. You have me doubting my own color palate....

Kudos to you, sir!

They're awesome sculpts! I appreciated the legit mouths. Looking up reference images made me itchy. I decided to go with the red because I wanted to give them an otherworldly tint: Just a hint of fantasy while still being grossly realistic. They definitely helped bring me back in after more than a week bogged down by my own self-doubt. I can't express how much that means to me!

I mean this in the best way possible: Eww. Just Eww.  VERY realistic.  And yucky.  ::):

Eww is perfect. Eww is what I aimed for!

They look great!

May I recommend Greenstuffworld UV Resin?

I used it on my Komodo Dragon, It pours nicely and will harden under direct sunlight or under an UV light.

As long as you keep it away from that it remains in it gel state.

I've seen some videos and it looks nice. The problem that I had was that it stuck to everything and the models' size didn't leave much room for maneuvering. I have a list of GSW stuff to order, so I'll add this to the list to try!

One of the three minis in the "44036 Dreadmere Females" pack
aka "Serena, Dreadmere Rogue" as she is known in the metal version.
More like, "Serena, Dark Brotherhood Assassin" if you ask me. Nothing screams secret stealth assassin on a mission to do bloody murder as having members-only assassin guild special shrouded armour that is distinct and different from all other armour types and uniforms...

Hm. I thought I heard something...

I've got more dead things for you today.  @Igormortis isn't the only one looking for some dirty dead!  Here's my little collection of swamp zombies.

The crowning jewel of this set is of course the Dreadmere Wight from Bone 4 Dreadmere.

He's got plenty of character packed into such a simple model.  I love him.

Along side him we have a repainted Zombie from D&D Giants of Legend prepaints (#40).

I've had this guy for ages, way before i learned to play D&D or ever picked up a mini brush.  His paintjob was pretty bland and I definitely think I (un)livened him up.  Would make a great shaman-type mini.

And filling out the horde we have the Zombies from the Castle Ravenloft board game.  Again.  Rather bland sculpts, but I like them a lot more now.  Their weird posture was the inspiration for the swamp theme as I imagined them pulling themselves up out of the muck.

All together, they're a fun thematic set and add for some variety to my dusty Graveyard Zombies.

Which one do you like best?

Another result from my 4th of July Paint Binge. A couple of creepy crawlies for the players to encounter down an old mine shaft:

For your consideration I present my take on the Golan, Hill Giant. This was painted by me as part of a contest for a Twitch streamer I follow. The challenge was to push your boundaries and do something you had never done before. I chose this model because I had never worked on something with this much skin before and I really needed to practice my skin tones. I went with a more earthy look in the color pallet and am pretty happy with how it turned out. C&C welcome

(forgive me, very new to the forums)

      Andowyn Thrushmoor!
It's been awhile since I've painted a plain ol' character miniature. I spent the better part of today working on her and I’m overall pleased with how she came out. I really want to double my skill level by the time Bones V is delivered and I’m proud of my progress! Slowly but surely figuring out how to do faces, this one looks pretty okay, though her right eye is funky.

Since this is my first form post, the picture is her next to my first miniature! It's about four years old and I keep it around the rest of my collection in a place of honor
