I have never figured out what the limit is. :blush: But I fell asleep before I could post the question... :blush:

Question for December 3rd: How many times have you been snowed on so far this Winter?

Just once. Not very much but enough to make me nervous about the weeks to come.

Nothing at all...yet. I understand that The Hill Country has had snow accumulations in the past, but nothing other than a light dusting since I moved here...God is good!

Maybe a half dozen times or so.  It's all been from a dusting to a couple of inches, nothing major yet.

Well, since it is still Fall..... zero.  Though we had some back in October once or twice, and a bit in November that didn't amount to anything.

What is this "Snow" you speak of? We don't usually get most of our inclement weather until January - March. So far just lots of crappy days with rain and wind.

That, too. Our worst weather awaits us.  March is always fun, we can get blizzard warnings and tornado alerts on the same day.

It may not 'officially' be winter, but I'm looking out the window at the 2 feet of snow we just got from Sunday at noon until about midnight last night; as far as I'm concerned that makes it Winter.

And my answer is 2.

Just as a point of interest I would note that there are several ways in which the seasons can be defined.  Astronomical seasons, based on solstices and equinoxes, seem to be the most commonly used.  But personally I prefer to use meteorological seasons, which are very simple and straightforward:

Spring=Mar-May

Summer=Jun-Aug

Autumn=Sep-Nov

Winter=Dec-Feb

(Of course they are the other way round for the southern hemisphere)

So by this definition winter in the northern hemisphere started a couple of days ago.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Winner, Winner, chicken dinner!

That is exactly the definitions of seasons I had in mind when I framed the question. You Sir, have won the opportunity to propose a question to be used later in the month. (Send it by PM to myself or any of the other previous question-setters (in case my PM Box has gone :unsure: Pear-shaped).)

I am in good shape on Questions, Armed with a numbered list scribbled out on graph paper I am, but there are some empty rows remaining.

Sadly, none ::(: Snow is really quite rare on the west coast due to the Gulf Stream. We usually get a massive(for us) drop of snow once every 3 years or so. Obviously everything grinds to a halt at that point since we really don't have the infrastructure to deal with it.

Our temperatures have been yo-yoing recently- it was -10°C (14°F) overnight last week and it's looking like 12°C (54°F) tomorrow. Silly weather :blink:

None, it's summer, but I did get dusted on the other day :( Do not recommend. Snow sounds like more fun.

I'm in the west coast no snow club.  Heck, there hasn't been much rain, either, which is unusual.  I just hope we're not hit with a crazy snow storm like we got last year.

I certainly did. Only for about half as much as I backed Bones 4, but it's still going to be a frighteningly large pile of figures. :blush:

I got in on it. Also feel free to keep $$ amounts confidential; this question was intended for a yes/no response.

I did!

If I can put more money during the PM depends on how things will go with us buying a new house and selling our old one.

When that's settled I can review our budget and see if it can be done.

As of now I'm in for about $550.

I know I'm cerainly going to get the Dark Depths, Brinewind, Brinewind Extras, the Vampire Set and the Himalayan Set, probably the ship depending on how it will develop.

The Goroloth, Arakoth and the War Mammoth and the Fan favorites for sure.

Maybe a dragon, maybe a the Lion Dragon ( I will leave the wings off and have a feral Sabretooth kinda monster). Still debating about the rest.

      Welcome to Getting to Know You, .February 2020 Edition.

      The rules as they currently stand ( we all know most of you rebellious lot will ignore most of it, but one can try)

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
      1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
      2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted between 8:00 hours and 12:00 hours CET. ( Central European Time)
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions will usually take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

      I unboxed this Dino this weekend. Here she is stomping on a tabletop. The model is flawless, the detail is quite nice.

      I did a little bit of research about ceratopsians. As near as I could find out this one has a frill somewhat like a Styracosaurus but the face (head?) is more like a Pentaceratops. Which is no cause for complaint as far as I’m concerned. Lots of sharp horns is a good thing.

      I still need the correct five digit number and the right name for this model. If anyone has those or a suggestion for a third tag I can edit the title.
