That's a great job!

Plus, a great base!

Thank you. I've never know how to properly do a bass. So I put play sand in the base and took watered down wood glue and applied thick coating over the sand and placed grass and rocks where I wanted them to be permanently fixed. Then after it dried I put a homemade brown wash on it. :)

And that's how you properly do a base.:poke:

Really?! That was just a guess. I've literally had no guidance in the matter. Lol.

There are many videos on youtube on the subject and also threads on this forum.

Basing can be done in several ways.

One  of them is what you did and that works really well.

Here is more on the subject, experiment, ask around, look around, you're already found a good way, maybe you get inspired to try other things as well.

Great work on the armor. I really like the effect.

If you work a bit more on highlights and shadows of the cloak, it would pop out more, as well.

To increase the effect of the base, you can also do a light dry brush once the wash is dry (or beforehand - depends on the style you're aiming for)

Hello fine fans and lovers of the Reaper Miniature World!

So today I've got two figures to post. I'd do them together, but different sculptors and different genres.

The first one is an old Julie Guthrie figure from the eighties, Woman Warrior With Two Swords.  I think she came in a box from the range "the Adventurers", which was full of female player characters.

      So here she is:

In one of Anne's podcasts, she was doing non-metal metal and I'd asked her about her base colors and she suggested more grey as opposed to a blue beginning, so with this figure and her metals, I started out with Rainy Grey instead of Ashen Blue which is what I normally use.  I think she came out pretty decently, even though of course I'm never satisfied with my own work.  Such is the curse of the painter....

Anyhoos, hope you enjoy her, a very fun and basic figure.  One of the reason I like old school minis as I've mentioned before.  She strapped on her armor, grabbed her blades and took off.  No ladening herself with bags, sacks and knick knacks.

Quick and easy speedpaint. Thanks for looking!

In my quest to paint up every race class combination, I tackled this fun mini from Oathsworn Miniatures.  One bad thing about pre-painting dragonborn is that they have unique powers based on their dragon color, so how likely is it that someone want to pick this mini in blue for the character?  Oh well, another one down!

My first attempt for this miniature.  Thoughts?
